Kate Winslet shares sweet message with King Charles as the Oscar winner becomes latest celeb ambassador to join The King’s Foundation
On Thursday, Kate Winslet warmly welcomed her new role as an ambassador for The King’s Foundation by sending a heartfelt message to the monarch.
The Academy Award-winning actress, aged 49, gleefully confessed her excitement about assuming the role, all the while flashing a smile as she shook hands with King Charles.
As I stepped into this new circle, joining esteemed figures like Sir David Beckham, Sienna Miller, Sir Rod Stewart, and Penny Lancaster, I wanted to assure you, Your Majesty, that my commitment is unwavering. I’m here with you, ready to support and contribute in any way I can.
Gracefully accepting the accolade, Kate exuded elegance in a fashionable, roomy cream ensemble and beamed broadly as she struck a pose next to her framed award.
After the announcement, Kate expressed her excitement saying, ‘I share a passion with His Majesty for discovering methods to safeguard and enhance our natural environment, which is something we both care deeply about.’
She added: “I am incredibly excited to serve as an ambassador for The King’s Foundation, especially since it marks its 35th anniversary this year. The King’s Foundation plays a crucial role in preserving and safeguarding nature and our precious Earth.

Specifically, I advocate for farm-to-table agriculture, which not only educates young individuals about the natural beauty surrounding us but also emphasizes our role in preserving this countryside for future generations. These values resonate strongly with me, as well as many others.
It has been intriguing discovering what the foundation has been up to for the last few months, and I’m eagerly anticipating working together with the other ambassadors to brainstorm strategies that will enable us to jointly create a meaningful impact.
This past month, a former Hollywood star was photographed greeting the King with a friendly handshake at a gathering for their foundation held at St James’s Palace in London.
This month, the annual event marking the 35th anniversary of The King’s Foundation took place early, providing a platform for celebrating alumni, students, and representatives of the monarch’s charitable endeavors.
200 guests were present at the event honoring the outstanding achievements of students, educators, graduates, and collaborators from our Foundation, whose contributions span various fields such as sustainability, preservation of traditional crafts, and environmental education.
I had the pleasure of joining an esteemed group that included Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci, renowned chef Raymond Blanc, and Alan Titchmarsh at our gathering.
David, the footballer, who took on the role of ambassador for the King’s Foundation in 2024, seemed right at home as he engaged energetically with renowned American actress Meryl.
In this instance, Charles, aged 76, excelled as an entertaining host, causing laughter among the well-known guests with his engaging conversations during the event.

Over the course of its 35-year history, this organization has educated over 115,000 students in traditional crafts and environmental studies, attracted over 2.5 million guests to its locations within the UK, and improved the livelihoods of over half a million people through sustainable city planning initiatives.
Penny Lancaster, an ambassador for The King’s Foundation, commended the monarch for his foresight in establishing the awards and consistently emphasizing the importance of environmental concerns throughout his mature years.
For over five decades, it’s been the King who’s led the way and guided us, showing remarkable foresight and innovation,” she explained.
The significance of these awards, as well as the foundation itself, lies in their ability to safeguard traditional crafts and the environment while providing a remarkable stage for winners to excel and accomplish great feats.
Initially, many found it peculiar when the monarch spoke extensively about environmental issues, being labeled as tree-hugging or even insane. However, his foresight is now evident as everything he predicted has come to pass, leaving us scrambling to follow in his footsteps.
I truly appreciate the method he’s using to share his wisdom with us, and if we could impart this knowledge to future generations, preserving age-old skills as demonstrated by today’s winners, we would all contribute significantly to positive change.
‘When we face a big task ahead and consider giving up due to its size, let’s remember the optimism and belief in ourselves that we can tackle this challenge effectively. There’s always reason for hope about what we can accomplish together, which bodes well for our future.’
