Kate Moss’s lifestyle brand she hoped would rival Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop closes less than three years after it was launched
When Kate Moss established her lifestyle brand, Cosmoss, she aspired for it to achieve comparable fame as Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop in the realm of celebrity ventures.
I can hardly believe it! As a die-hard admirer of her work, I’ve been following the incredible journey of this supermodel’s fashion venture since its grand debut at Harrods in 2022. Yet, here we are, barely three years later, and the company she poured her heart into has shut down. It feels like a dream that’s suddenly turned into a bittersweet reality.
Yesterday, she put the Cosmoss Group into voluntary liquidation.
The company’s closure has been announced in filings submitted to Companies House. A notice indicates that liquidators were appointed on June 18.
At the time of launch, Moss, 51, claimed it would ‘open a door’ to ‘balance, restoration and love’.
Previously, she proudly declared her achievement: she managed to discover a wondrous remedy for eczema, a feat even the leading global scientists couldn’t accomplish.
With a single use of her recently purchased Golden Nectar skin oil priced at £105, she claimed an unexpected advantage: it immediately cleared up eczema or persistent skin disorder, psoriasis.
In the video posted on Cosmoss’s Instagram, she shared a secret: ‘We didn’t realize this when we created it, but we’ve come to understand it later.’

Friends of mine suffer from conditions like eczema, psoriasis, or other skin irritations, including rashes or bug bites. Apply this product, and usually by the next day, those problems seem to vanish.
Cosmoss sold a range of own-brand teas, skincare products and a book of 150 ‘positive messages’.
Moss experienced a significant shift in her professional life following the launch, as she had previously been labeled ‘Cocaine Kate’ in 2005 due to photographs that allegedly depicted her using drugs at a music studio, according to a newspaper report.
She lost her £1 million contract with H&M and booked herself into a rehab clinic.
For the Moss family, Cosmoss has been more than just a business; it’s a shared passion. Lila Moss, their daughter and fellow model, has represented the brand at numerous events. At the tender age of 22, Lila graced Paris Fashion Week yesterday in an intricate sheer top. As part of the festivities, she was among the attendees celebrating Cosmoss’s first anniversary back in 2023.
In the same year, Kate won a legal battle with a Danish pharmaceutical firm over the Cosmoss name.
This implies that she successfully registered the brand name for herbal remedies used for medical purposes, as well as for food and dietary supplements.
It was stated previously that Kate harbored significant aspirations for the Cosmoss brand. However, an initial review of Cosmoss’s financial records revealed that they owed creditors more than £405,000, with total stock and assets valued slightly over £315,000.

Originally from Croydon, south London, Moss failed to submit updated financial records as required by last December. The data, covering a period of 18 months up until December 2023, is yet to be submitted to Companies House.
Ahead of the liquidation, members of staff revealed that they had gone unpaid since January.
The end of the brand also follows its failure to secure trademark status in America.
