Kate Hudson Reunites with Lakers’ Jeanie Buss Amid Netflix Hit and Courtside Glam
Her hit new Netflix show Running Point has been renewed for a second series.
On Wednesday, just like her character would do, Kate Hudson chose to celebrate by attending the game with her family. The match in question was the Los Angeles Lakers versus the Denver Nuggets, held at the Crypto.com Arena.
In the new sports comedy, the 45-year-old actress steps into the main character, Isla Gordon – a reformed partygoer who finds herself leading her family’s professional basketball team, the Los Angeles Waves, by surprise.
She met up once more with Jeanie Buss, the person who inspired her character, in reality. Jeanie is both the majority owner and president of the Los Angeles Lakers.
63-year-old executive was warmly greeted by an overjoyed Kate, who exuded elegance in a brown corduroy suit consisting of pants and a shirt.
As a lifestyle aficionado, I’d casually say: I styled my newly dyed blonder locks aside, flaunting my statement hoop earrings, paired with a chic black T-shirt and matching belt, just like the Almost Famous star might do.

At the game, Kate presented an upbeat image, accompanied by her two boys and one niece, who sat close to the court to enjoy the Lakers’ 120-108 victory against the Nuggets.
She was seen enthusiastically taking in the action and rooting for the Lakers alongside her oldest child, Ryder (age 21), whom she co-parents with her former spouse, Chris Robinson.
Additionally, she snuggled close for a photo opportunity alongside her second child, Bingham (age 13), whom she had with her former fiance, Matt Bellamy.
In addition to Kate, her 11-year-old niece Rio, the daughter of her older brother Oliver Hudson and his wife Erinn Bartlett, was also present.
Her attendance at the game follows the news that Kate revealed Netflix has renewed her highly-praised series, Running Point, for a subsequent season.
12.2 million viewers tuned in for the basketball comedy series premiere on February 27, with many catching up the following week.
Kate took charge behind the scenes as an executive producer and also acted in the series that was developed by Mindy Kaling, with a storyline inspired by Jeanie’s real-life path to assuming the presidency of the Lakers following her father’s demise.
They had a lengthy past together, as Kate frequently attended games alongside her well-known parents, who were fond of introducing her to Jeanie. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, Jeanie recalled knowing Kate since she was a youngster.

Kate enthusiastically shared: “I was thrilled when she agreed to let me portray a humorously inspired depiction of her life.
As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but excitedly share that the cast of my favorite show, Running Point, includes none other than Drew Tarver, Scott MacArthur, Fabrizio Guido, Toby Sandeman, Chet Hanks, and the exceptionally talented Max Greenfield. These remarkable individuals truly bring the show to life!
Kate is the offspring of the Academy Award-winning actress Goldie Hawn and the musician Bill. They separated when she was just 18 months old.
She was brought up primarily by her mother and her partner, Kurt Russell. Previously, she mentioned that she isn’t particularly close with her biological father and views Kurt as a father figure instead.
From 2000 to 2006, the actress who played the lead in “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” was married to Chris. Later in 2010, she started dating Matt from the band Muse, and they got engaged in April of the next year.
In 2014, they parted ways, and since 2016, Kate has been in a relationship with her present partner, Danny Fujikawa. Together, they became parents to their daughter, Rani, who was born in the year 2018.
Previously this year, the Academy Award nominee shared insights on navigating the complexities of her diverse family structure.
In her own words, she shared, “We’re deeply bonded, and we’re extremely close. Love may manifest differently, but it’s captivating to see how a contemporary family can be filled with such immense love for all their children!

As a cherished member of our diverse brood, I find great joy in the fact that despite our unconventional familial structure, we’ve managed to find harmony… Each child in our fold experiences the warmth of a vast family network.
Kate observed that her former partners’ kids consider her youngest as if they were actual sisters, and she feels that her family has been exceptionally cultivated, which she thinks isn’t typical of many families.
She mentioned: ‘Rani and my ex-daughters-in-law share a bond similar to that of sisters… I believe the connection we have as a family is quite unique and not very common.’
Kate appears incredibly joyful, as she refers to having a genuine “family circle” surrounding her, where everyone seems secure and comfortable.
As a die-hard fan, I can barely contain my excitement when I exclaim, “Bring her here, please!” Sitting amidst these vibrant young minds, I find myself overwhelmed with joy, knowing we’ve built such an expansive and beautiful family. It’s nothing short of breathtaking.
It seems that everyone is accepting of this idea and recognizes it as the most sensible choice for the children. This sentiment is evident in their behavior; they appear to be cherished, secure, and comfortable.
