Kate Gosselin reports she was almost knocked to the ground when a robbery occurred at a grocery store in New Zealand. It was a frightening experience for her.
Jon Gosselin, 50, from the show Jon & Kate Plus 8, posted a TikTok video revealing someone attempted to steal a shopping cart full of groceries.
Her boyfriend, Steve Neild, and others tried to stop the thief, but during the struggle, Gosselin says she was knocked over. She was still recovering from a broken leg at the time.
Last September, the reality star broke her leg while playing with her dog, and the injury required surgery, which was understandably scary.
She had recently celebrated a major milestone – walking on her own in public after almost four months – when this frightening experience happened.
In a TikTok video, she said a man ran past them and lost a shoe. She explained that he bumped into her, nearly causing her to fall, especially since she has trouble walking.

She explained that he ran quickly past her while she was just beginning to walk. She’d been injured, which is why she was still recovering and briefly lost her balance.
She confirmed her boyfriend was on hand to help during the chaos.
‘I love that Steve turns right back into a cop on a moment’s notice,’ she wrote.
She described the chaotic scene, saying, ‘It was crazy – all these New Zealand men were chasing after him, trying to intervene. Everyone immediately called the police on their phones. It’s a huge event here because, to be honest, this area rarely sees any crime.’
You know, watching this unfold, it really struck me how different things are here. I couldn’t help but think, ‘In the States, they’d likely just let this person walk away.’ It’s a real contrast in how situations like this are handled.
It’s rare to see people actually step in and help, so it was really encouraging to witness. About six or eight people chased after the thief, and I even kicked his shoe off to try and slow him down, she explained.
‘Good job guys,’ she shouted as several bystanders returned the shopping carts to the store.
At the conclusion of the video, Gosselin shared that the thief and another person involved had fled in a vehicle. Fortunately, witnesses were able to record the license plate number and provide it to the police, which she praised as helpful.

Kate Gosselin, known from the show Jon & Kate Plus 8, recently revealed she broke her leg badly while playing with her dog and needed surgery last September. The injury was significant and changed her life.
She walked into the shop with a smile, though she seemed to favor her left leg and was walking carefully.
The video starts with text appearing on screen as she walks into the store and approaches the counter.
‘I’ve been walking at home more and more and then BAM. I could suddenly walk everywhere!!!’
‘It’s amazing,’ she said to the camera at one point of the clip. ‘It, like, happened overnight.’
Once she’d ordered and finished her snacks with her friends, she began to leave the cafe.
‘So now I’ll just casually walk out of here,’ she narrated before exiting the shop. ‘I did it.’
She finished the video by adding text to the screen expressing her excitement that this day had finally arrived.

In November, she went official on Instagram with her bodyguard-turned-boyfriend Neild.
I still remember when I first saw them together! It was almost 20 years ago, right when she was becoming a huge star thanks to her family’s show. He was hired as her bodyguard, and honestly, from that moment on, I just knew something special was happening. It was like he was destined to protect her, and I was instantly hooked on their story!
Kate was married to Jon Gosselin at the time, and although there were rumors about a relationship with Neild, she consistently denied them.
They’ve been dating for more than a year now, and rumors suggest they may even be living together.
In September, Kate’s boyfriend, Neild, appeared briefly on a TikTok live stream, bringing her a latte. While his face wasn’t shown, it was the first public hint that they were dating.
Kate greeted her boyfriend, noting that he waved to the fans, even though they couldn’t see him.
Kate mentioned her boyfriend isn’t a big fan of being filmed, so people likely won’t see much of him. However, she hinted that things might change, saying ‘we’ll see.’
At least one person hasn’t taken the relationship well – her ex Jon.

In September, he publicly accused Kate of infidelity, with their son Collin supporting the claims. He suggested that her relationship with a former bodyguard had actually ended their marriage several years prior.
Pictures appeared online of Kate and Steve having fun on a beach vacation. They were seen smiling in their swimsuits and life vests, posing by the pool in the sunshine.
Jon publicly acknowledged the relationship on Instagram, sharing a Page Six article about them dating with the caption, ‘Looks like we know who was really responsible for the marriage ending… Check it out.’
The reality TV personality, originally from Wyomissing, said people didn’t pay attention to what he said before, but he now feels proven right. He expressed hope that people will take him seriously going forward, saying, ‘Hopefully, people will listen to me now!’
Kate and Steve started dating in 2008, shortly before Kate’s divorce from Jon was finalized. According to Page Six, they are now making plans to get married.
According to a source close to the couple, they are seriously considering marriage. The insider revealed that Kate is deeply in love and they’ve already begun discussing wedding plans and their future together.
Just a few days before the report came out, Kate announced on TikTok that she’s started dating again and is very happy with someone new.
She shared that she’s been dating him for just over a year – around 14 or 15 months – and enjoys having companionship again, though she didn’t mention his name, Steve.
Kate and Jon were married for ten years, from 1999 to 2009, and have eight children together. They are parents to 24-year-old twins, Madelyn and Cara, and 21-year-old sextuplets: Aaden, Collin, Joel, Hannah, Alexis, and Leah.
She suggested her boyfriend might make a few appearances in her future TikTok videos, saying fans ‘might see him here and there’ or ‘once in a while’.
