Kate Gosselin gives frosty response to son’s claim that kids were ‘pitted against each other’ after divorce

Kate Gosselin has countered her son Collin’s claims about the strained relationship within their family.

On a recent Monday, the ex-reality TV personality (age 50) utilized TikTok, offering glimpses into her recent 12-hour workday. While multitasking by running the dishwasher and engaging with inquiries from followers, she continued to share her responsibilities during that shift.

In the comment section, someone shared a screenshot from TikTok featuring their child Collin, who asserted that he and his siblings were allegedly separated against their will.

Kate has been separated from Colin and her daughter Hannah, who moved in with their father, Jon (age 48), in 2016, during a difficult custody dispute.

In response to the screenshot, the Kate Plus 8 star wrote ‘He knows why.’

Previously, Collin alleged that his mother subjected him to severe mistreatment. He asserted that she confined him in the basement and bound his wrists and ankles with zip ties.

At the age of 12, Kate chose to admit Collin into a behavioral treatment center, which his father disagreed with.

Collin and Hannah are two members of the Gosselin sextuplets who appeared on the reality show “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” which aired from 2007 to 2009. Along with their siblings Aadan, Alexis, Leah, Joel, they were part of this large family. Kate and Jon also have twins named Mady and Cara, who are older at 24 years old.

After Jon and Kate divorced in 2009, the show carried on as Kate plus 8, airing from 2015 to 2016. 

In another part of the comment thread, someone wondered about the reason for a home healthcare nurse working 12-hour shifts.

‘Honestly? Providing for 8 kids,’ she said matter of factly. 

She mentioned that the college funds, which I’m extremely proud to say fully covered their educational costs and beyond, were a reference to her costly legal disputes with Jon regarding lawsuits,” or simply, “She pointed out that the college funds, which paid for more than just their education due to her expensive court battles with Jon, encompassed lawyers as well.

‘Sickening but I was drug [sic] into court constantly and that costs A TON,’ she explained. 

I’m disappointed because, if not for lawyers, my children and I could have accumulated significantly more savings for their future and for my retirement. (:( )

Embracing a positive outlook, I find myself reflecting on this moment with a sense of fulfillment. In my journey, I’ve discovered that I’m extending a valuable hand to numerous families, making me feel indispensable. The joy that comes from assisting others is truly a reward in itself, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Others have openly acknowledged their respect for the mother of eight. Now, in hindsight, it’s clear that you were often perceived as a villain, but that was not the case. I want to express my sincere apologies for ever doubting you on that account.

As a dedicated fan, let me confess that I once held reservations towards you. But now, I realize those feelings were largely influenced by the way you were depicted on that infamous show. Observing you closely, I can see the relatability and normalcy you exude, which resonates even more profoundly with me as a mother. You embody the spirit of all mothers, and I find myself deeply appreciative and connected to your portrayal!
