Kate Garraway playfully commented on her potential departure from Good Morning Britain due to budget reductions at ITV.
On today’s morning program (August 4), they appeared alongside co-host Ed Balls and Louie Spence, discussing the latest happenings at the broadcasting station. Notably, these changes have led to a significant reduction in funding for their daytime programming, such as Good Morning Britain.
Towards the conclusion of the interview, Spence feigned indignation over the budget reductions, humorously exclaiming: “Who do they think they are? What’s happening here? They’re eliminating Lorraine, even the Loose Women are being cut! What’s going on? This place will be in shambles!
Garraway, who’s been with GMB since 2014, clarified: “In our line of work, news, we strive for impartiality, contrary to popular belief, which means we don’t take sides or endorse anything.

Garraway and Spence’s amusing conversation takes place following ITV’s announcement in May about a reorganization of their daytime programming. The changes, which are planned, may impact Good Morning Britain, Loose Women, Lorraine, and This Morning.
Discussing the “extremely harsh” reductions, Nadia Sawalha, a panelist on “Loose Women,” expressed feelings of sadness, stating, “Many people don’t understand that at ‘Loose Women,’ we are freelancers. Each contract represents a new business arrangement for me.
She noted that neither of us knows when our employment might end, as it could be today or in five years; it’s all uncertain since we’re not each other’s employers.
