Kate Ferdinand shared photos and videos of her family’s luxurious Dubai home with her followers on Sunday while spending time with her kids.
Kate Wright, 34, and her husband, former footballer Rio Ferdinand, 46, moved from southeast London to the United Arab Emirates in August, trading their usual life for a sunny desert environment.
According to the Daily Mail, the couple has purchased a home in the upscale, private community of Al Barari. The luxurious property was listed for 32.5 million dirhams (around £6.55 million) in April.
Kate recently posted a video on Instagram showing a relaxed day at home in her pajamas. She made pizza and enjoyed treats with her kids.
She proudly displayed her spacious home, highlighting its contemporary design, comfortable living room with a very large television, and impressive entryway.
In a recent post, she shared what true self-care means to her: knowing when it’s okay to simply relax – like staying home in pajamas, binge-watching Netflix without feeling bad, ordering pizza, doing only what’s necessary, and prioritizing rest over trying to be productive.

Your body doesn’t focus on how good your workout looks; it responds to whether you’re truly providing it with what it needs to thrive.
The video showed sweet moments of her children, four-year-old Cree and two-year-old Shae, having fun in their lovely new house.
Kate is the stepmother to Rio Ferdinand’s three children – Lorenz, 19, Tate, 17, and Tia, 13 – from his previous marriage to Rebecca Ellison, who sadly passed away in 2015.
Rio and Kate announced on Instagram in August that they’re moving to the UAE. They described feeling a mix of fear, excitement, and nerves about the change, but are looking forward to a ‘fresh start’ in the city where they first met eight years ago.
Kate shared her excitement about a new beginning, saying they’re finally making a home in the city where they first met. She emphasized that taking the leap was important, as they’ll never know what could have been if they hadn’t tried. It’s a dream they’ve discussed for a long time, and now it’s become a reality!
Already feeling a little sad about missing out on some favorites, but mostly I’m excited, nervous, and ready for a fresh start and new adventures! ❤️
So, I’ve been following Rio’s move to Dubai, and he’s finally shared what prompted the change. It seems he needed a fresh start just after leaving his job at TNT Sports, and Dubai felt like the right place to make that happen. It’s all about finding what makes you happy and pursuing a new chapter, and he’s definitely doing that!

As many of you know, I decided to step down from my broadcasting role back in May. It wasn’t an easy decision, but I really wanted to dedicate more of my time and energy to building my own business ventures. It felt like the right time to shift my focus and pursue some passions outside of the studio.
After a decade working at TNT Sports (formerly BT Sport), Ferdinand is moving to the United Arab Emirates with his family. This decision comes even though his 19-year-old son, Lorenz, just signed his first professional soccer contract with Brighton in July.
It wasn’t just one thing that led to my decision,” Ferdinand explained to The National. “I attended the Global Soccer Awards over Christmas, and it had been around seven or eight years since I’d really been involved. I used to go regularly before that.
Spending time with Kate’s friends who lived there really opened my eyes to a whole new perspective. Plus, I’m involved with a business out there called Football Escapes, so I’ve gotten to know the area pretty well.
Dubai offers a lifestyle where families feel valued and energized, creating a positive environment for children. People are drawn to the safety, pleasant weather, and the opportunity for a fresh start.
I was ready for a change. For the past decade, my life revolved around my work with TV broadcasts after retiring from playing. When I decided to step down, I realized how much of my life – about 30 years – had been dictated by the schedule of games. But that’s no longer the case. I’m still involved in football, but it’s no longer the central focus of my life, and honestly, it feels good to have that balance.
The Manchester United icon also revealed that a major reason for the transfer was wanting the best education for his children.
He mentioned he’d considered moving. They revisited in February to check out the schools, which reminded him of the possibility and got him thinking about it again.
That felt like a turning point for me, because the new school seemed like a much better fit for my kids. It’s ideal that they’re starting in August at age 14, as that’s when their two years of GCSE coursework begin.

With kids aged four and two, this feels like a great fit for them too. It’s an English curriculum, but taught in a unique and engaging way.
‘I feel the teachers in the UK feel a little bit like undervalued, underpaid.’
The couple recently got together with Rio’s older children, traveling to meet them for a family reunion.
The family gathered with their eldest son, Lorenz, who came to visit after signing his first professional football contract with Brighton in the UK. Their younger son, Tate, who plays for Brighton’s Under 18s team, was also there, making it a complete family reunion.
