A week ago, Kate disclosed Liam’s chilling parting words that he shared with her when they bid farewell in Argentina, mere days prior to his passing.

Since the singer’s passing in October, Kate has openly discussed her personal experiences coping with grief, and in a recent conversation, she frankly disclosed the seriousness of his battles with mental health issues and substance abuse.

In the recent installment of his podcast “On Purpose,” she expressed that the last words spoken by the One Direction member to her evoked a mix of sadness and tranquility within her.

She shared that she had been talking endlessly about her feelings for him while they were together, and he chuckled and interrupted her by saying something like, “Kate, don’t forget you’ll miss your flight if you don’t leave now. Your car is parked in the driveway.

He then added: ‘You’re acting like this is the last time you are ever gone see me again.’ 

Without realizing what was about to happen next, Kate responded with a laugh. Yet, looking back now, knowing that it was the last time she would ever see him again gives her such a cold shiver.

She mentioned, “I feel incredibly fortunate that our final goodbye was as heartfelt as it was. I wouldn’t have desired it to be any other way. I’m overjoyed about the wonderful moments we shared, and I wouldn’t trade those memories for anything.

In the course of our conversation, I openly shared about the battle my idol faced with his mental health and substance issues, putting it this way: “There were moments when he seemed to be making progress, only to find himself slipping back.

‘He had the potential for self-improvement, yet there seemed to be a point where a mental switch would activate, causing him to wake up in the morning with a specific mood or feeling.’

In contrast to Liam’s preference for staying indoors, Kate shared that she frequently needed to encourage him to venture out. This was due to his tendency to remain in bed, whether it be at home or in a hotel room.

With honesty, she continued: “At moments, it was overwhelming for me, seeing as I’m not a trained expert, nor have I ever been one. Additionally, I’m quite young, and I simply did my best in every situation.

‘It’s essential to understand that no one else can truly heal or transform another person; instead, the power to change lies within themselves.’

As a devoted admirer, I want to share this: While I stand by their side during the best and the toughest times, I recognize that I can’t eradicate or heal their struggles with addiction or mental health issues. What I can do is offer my unwavering support and help them navigate through their journey.

To truly assist and nurture others, it’s essential to also take care of oneself. Sometimes, I find myself overlooking this important aspect.

On October 16, Liam tragically lost his life following a prolonged period of excessive alcohol and drug use, which occurred while he was lodged at the Casa Sur hotel in Buenos Aires.

Speaking about addiction, Kate mentioned that if he had the option to remain sober for the remainder of his life, he certainly would have.

At the start of our interaction, some parts were unclear to me, so initially, I found myself thinking something along the lines of, “Couldn’t you just avoid doing that?”, but in reality, it’s not as simple as that.

It became clear to me that this was a decision beyond his control. Despite having a wonderful day, an incident would occur later at night that seemed to trigger something within him, causing him to act impulsively.

Kate mentioned that the celebrity had a daily routine of getting coffee from Starbucks but preferred staying in bed over leaving the house with his partner to fetch it.

Additionally, she shared a story from their recent vacation in Greece. There, she persuaded him to leave the hotel room and head to the beach, as he preferred to remain inside instead.

I recently found myself in a position to share my thoughts in a fresh interview, following an outpouring of emotion from my fellow fans who felt unsettled by the public mentions I’ve been making about Liam. Some have suggested that this is being done to capitalize on his fame, especially at a time when his parents are still coping with their grief and loss. However, my intentions remain sincere, and I continue to admire and respect the impact he has made in our community.

According to Argentina’s National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office, the hotel manager, a receptionist, and a friend of Payne have been accused of manslaughter, as stated in their official announcement.
