Kate Beckinsale denies ‘protective’ Ben Affleck was mystery toxic co-star who was ‘rough with her’ on set

As a compassionate observer, I find myself deeply moved by the experiences shared by both Kate and Blake, two powerful women in the entertainment industry who have bravely spoken out against workplace harassment. Their stories are heart-wrenching reminders of the pervasive issue of abuse and the need for genuine change in our society, not just within the film industry.

Kate’s life experience, marked by a career spanning several decades, offers an insightful perspective on the challenges faced by women in this field. Her eloquent words highlight the importance of creating safe spaces where victims can voice their concerns without fear of retaliation or further abuse. It is disheartening to see that even after countless efforts towards progress, we still have a long way to go before our industry becomes truly inclusive and equitable for all.

Blake’s courage in standing up against alleged harassment is inspiring, especially considering she is a young mother navigating the complexities of Hollywood. Her decision to speak out against Justin Baldoni underscores the importance of holding those responsible accountable for their actions and creating an environment where everyone can thrive without fear or intimidation.

In light of these events, I believe it’s essential for men and women in our industry to stand together and work towards eradicating this toxic culture. As someone who appreciates a good joke, let me end by saying that if we can send men to the moon, surely we can create an environment where everyone feels safe and valued at work! May this New Year bring more light, understanding, and change in our industry for all its members.

In a supportive move, Kate Beckinsale spoke up for Ben Affleck following his honest disclosure about an unidentified colleague who was challenging towards her while intoxicated during filming.

51-year-old actress from Underworld, more recently expressed concerns over a ‘harmful’ work atmosphere during the production of Pearl Harbor in 2001, following Blake Lively’s legal action against Justin Baldoni.

In a video posted on Instagram on Monday, she informed her audience that she had been excluded (ostracized) due to her comments about the incident. She also reminisced about challenging experiences she’s faced within the industry.

Instead, Beckinsale swiftly debunked the allegations when she replied to a fan’s query, “Could Affleck be the one who’s drunk?

She said, ‘Ben Affleck acted with great respect and kindness towards me, even in a very harmful movie environment.’

From my personal perspective, I’ve found that the real challenge hasn’t been identifying who was responsible for a problem or abuse; rather, it has been the consequences of reporting those issues. The punishment that often follows speaking up can be far more severe than anyone could ever anticipate. It’s unfortunate and disheartening to see individuals facing such harsh repercussions for doing what is right, which only serves to discourage others from coming forward in the future.

She added, ‘The key part is that everyone asks why you didn’t inform someone. To put it simply, we all wonder if you had.’

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve made sure to inform my team leaders, producers, and studio heads about this matter. It’s important to note that these discussions are typically observed by a diverse group ranging from 30 to 100 individuals.

In a specific instance, Kate recounted an event where the actor treated her harshly. He damaged her costume, tore her wig in two, and left bruises on her – not to mention making her lightheaded and causing her great fear.

Beckinsale noted that everyone was extremely anxious, causing them to halt production for several hours. They were truly distressed and upset.

Instead of immediately phoning the studio head, I was prompted by my mother to make the call since my instinct wasn’t particularly strong.

In my expert opinion as a lifestyle advocate, when I voiced my concerns about that unfortunate event, I faced consequences such as punishment, isolation, and honestly, I couldn’t have hoped harder for not having spoken up. It’s simply unjust, and it contradicts entirely the purpose of creating this video in the first place.

Other Instagram users started guessing that Colin Farrell could have been the unnamed actor she spoke about extensively in her video post.

In 2012, Kate Beckinsale and Jim Caviezel teamed up in the action film “Total Recall,” a modern adaptation of the 1990 movie with the same title.

A fan said, “It seems you’re referring to Colin Farrell,” and Kate responded, “Absolutely not.

In the video, the celebrity shared personal insights about her career journey, stating that Blake’s legal action shed light on the actual happenings within Hollywood. She expressed her appreciation towards the star for standing up and speaking openly about these issues.

In reference to a distressing event, Kate shared that a publicist warned her with the threat of legal action if she failed to attend a photo session.

She mentioned that her employer, a publicist, compelled her to participate in a photoshoot just a day following her miscarriage.

She explained, “I’m unable right now because I’m bleeding. I feel uncomfortable going for a photoshoot where I don’t know the people and would have to change my clothes in front of them. This is due to a miscarriage that I’m currently experiencing.

Beckinsale then claimed that the publicist had told her, ‘You’ll have to, or you’ll be sued.’

Additionally, she disclosed that she had been called both a “jerk” and a “bitch” in the past, merely for voicing concerns about having to wait six long hours for a colleague who was intoxicated to arrive at work.

In a different instance, Kate mentioned that she was compelled to follow a stringent diet on two distinct film projects, causing her to miss her period on two occasions.

She mentioned: ‘On two films, I followed a very rigorous diet and exercise regimen which caused me to miss my periods completely.’

In 2016, Beckinsale brought up Michael Bay’s previous remarks about her looks during an interview on The Graham Norton Show, as reported by Vanity Fair.

The actress expressed that she didn’t seem to match the typical type of actress Michael Bay had encountered in the past. She speculated that he might have been puzzled by her, as she didn’t have exceptionally large breasts or blonde hair.

After welcoming my little one into the world and shedding some pounds, I was presented with an exciting opportunity that required physical fitness. However, I found myself puzzled as to why a character from the 1940s, portraying a nurse, would need to work out extensively.

During an interview about our movie, the actress mentioned that someone inquired as to why Michael selected Ben Affleck and Josh Hartnett. In response, Michael explained that he had previously collaborated with Ben and admires him greatly, while also praising Josh for his masculinity and exceptional acting skills.

When questioned about you, he’d respond, “Kate wasn’t so unattractive as to repel the female spectators.” He seemed to repeat this statement frequently, and we visited numerous locations together.

Kate asserted that she had been manipulated into feeling like an issue, constantly being accused and excluded within the industry.

The actress asserted that she has approximately 47 million tales, much like the experiences she related after spending time on film sets, echoing behind her.

She emphasized, “I want to express my gratitude to Blake Lively for pointing out that this issue isn’t something ancient and forgotten—it persists.

Then, if such an event occurs, a device is activated with the sole purpose of annihilating you entirely. I suspect this happens in various sectors too, and it must be halted.

In addition to the lengthy video, Kate emphasized in her post’s caption: ‘It’s crucial that everyone across ALL professions is treated with respect and not penalized when they face serious mistreatment at their workplace.’

In our field, the events and happenings often become matters of public discussion or observation.

She added, And that can be very very hard to take, and because it is so public and so globally public, and very quickly becomes clickbait, it can also destroy someone’s livelihood, mental health and reputation and that can be very difficult to recover from.’

I’m not implying that only actresses face challenges – I believe this issue is prevalent across various industries. However, due to the nature of our profession, it may appear more prominent within the entertainment industry.

Instead of having them confront the same challenges as previous generations of actresses, I’d prefer if our younger counterparts didn’t have to deal with the added pressures that come with social media. It can be used to inflict harm at an alarming speed and intensity, effectively dismantling individuals.

Kate went on to say, ‘Fostering intense dislike towards actresses can be incredibly simple, as demonstrated by the offensive exchanges between the publicists and crisis management team in this particular instance, as shown in their transcripts.’

It’s unfair and counterproductive for complaining about mistreatment to lead to further mistreatment, especially in a professional setting like work, where strict protections against such behavior should always apply.

It is unfair to demand that women who have suffered harm, disrespect, pain, shame, or any form of abuse (often with many witnesses), should feel compelled to conform to masculine norms and endure their suffering, or face repercussions for having been victimized.

The actress stated that it’s unfair for anyone with valid concerns, regardless of gender, to have their complaints used as a weapon in any profession or field.

I bring up Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni in connection to this point, as our line of work often draws attention through media and public engagement, leading people to form opinions that may be unknowingly influenced.

1) Kate summarized by saying, ‘The number of victims from this situation is alarmingly high, many of whom are acquainted with me. It’s a responsibility we all share within our field to put an end to it permanently. By the way, I’m covered in cat fur.’

A week ago, Blake lodged a lawsuit against Justin, charging him with sexual misconduct during the production of It Ends With Us, and subsequently organizing a negative media campaign against her following her complaint about his conduct.

In Blake’s initial grievance, prior to a full-fledged lawsuit, she alleged that Justin had subjected her to sexual harassment in various forms while they were working together on the film set.

In the lawsuit, Lively asserted that Justin forcefully entered her mobile home while she was nursing her baby. She also mentioned Justin’s previous involvement in adult movies, discussed past encounters with sexual undertones that lacked consent, and inquired about personal, private aspects of her romantic life.

Baldoni has since denied all of the claims against him in Blake’s legal filing.

In a recent development, the former Gossip Girl cast member recently filed yet another lawsuit against the actor on New Year’s Eve. Her legal team reported to DailyMail.com that she has been subjected to ‘more retaliation and attacks’ since she made her accusations against Justin public.
