Karma: The Dark World Bringing Lynchian Horror to Xbox Series X|S
Wired Productions together with independent studio Pollard Studio have revealed that the captivating horror title, Karma: The Dark World, which draws inspiration from the works of David Lynch, Hideo Kojima, and Christopher Nolan, is set to arrive on consoles and PC.
The game, crafted in Unreal Engine 5, offers a cinematic first-person psychological horror experience that draws inspiration from the work of David Lynch. As Creative Director Yonghe Wang explains, he admires Lynch’s “elaborate” style and the “distinctive, dreamlike” atmosphere of his creations. Wang notes that the colors, camera work, and character development in Lynch’s art all seem deliberate and profound.
Wang stated, “Though we may not reach the level of a master like Lynch, our goal is to learn from him – to grasp how he developed his unique style known as Lynchian, and apply that vision to various other art forms. This is a dream of ours.” The game will feature you controlling Roam Agent Daniel McGovern, who explores the minds of his suspects.
Over time, McGovern’s newest case immerses him further into a realm of deceit and treachery, causing him to doubt everything he thought was true, even his own self-image. The game Karma: The Dark World is set to launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC; the release date will be announced shortly.
