As a lifestyle expert with extensive experience in sports and entertainment, I must say that Kaylee McKeown is truly an inspiration. Her journey from a young athlete to an Olympic champion, while dealing with personal tragedies like the loss of her father, showcases resilience, determination, and grace.
During a lively post-win interview at the Paris Olympics, swimmer Kaylee McKeown let out an expletive, leaving Karl Stefanovic chuckling amusedly.
On Channel Nine’s Today show, Ellie Cole interviewed McKeown after her triumphant win on Tuesday. She inquired if there was any special message McKeown wished to share with her loved ones.
“She inquired if there was anything you’d like to say, as a token of gratitude, to your family for their unwavering support throughout the past three years?”
McKeown replied: ‘I can’t truly express my gratitude for their support. They handle quite a bit, so thank you immensely for everything they manage.’
Following the broadcast of the interview, Karl shared with the younger audience that McKeown was permitted to use profanity since she had earned a gold medal.
‘She said sh*t. To all the kids out there watching before school this morning, hey, you know what? She’s won a gold medal, she can say whatever she pleases,’ he joked.
As a seasoned lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve joined an elite group of women who have achieved the remarkable feat of winning consecutive 100m backstroke gold medals at the Olympics. I follow in the footsteps of the illustrious Natalie Coughlin, who claimed her victories in 2004 and 2008. This historic milestone is a testament to the dedication, perseverance, and love for swimming that has driven me throughout my career.
After the victory she also paid tribute to her dad Sholto, who died of brain cancer in 2020.

‘I like to think I have a little superpower and that’s my dad,’ McKeown said.
‘I believe he was with me tonight, so I’m over the moon.’
In response to being asked what her father would have said if he could witness her Olympic victory, McKeown, known for her infamous live TV F-bomb incident, responded, “I won’t use profanity… He would be incredibly proud.”
‘It’s great to have my family here because I know that he’s here in spirit.’
Three years ago, during the Tokyo Olympics, the participant from Queensland won gold medals for both the 100-meter and 200-meter backstroke swimming competitions.

On Thursday, she’ll kick off her 200m title defense with preliminary rounds and semifinals, followed by the medal competition on Friday.
McKeown will include the 200m Individual Medley in her schedule for Paris, and she’s set to compete in the finals this coming Saturday.
In her Olympic journey, she has added another four gold medals to her collection, as she was part of the victorious Australian women’s 4×100 medley relay team during the Tokyo games.
I can hardly contain my excitement! On the final day of competition at the Paris pool this coming Sunday, there’s a strong chance I’ll get to witness her shining once more – she, who is undeniably a part of Australia’s team for the medley final.
