As a lifestyle expert with over two decades of professional experience, I find myself constantly intrigued by the dynamic lives and careers of prominent figures like Kanye West and Kim Kardashian. The recent news about Kanye’s Sunday Service gospel choir losing its charity status is indeed a significant development that raises questions about the management of this unique organization.

Kanye West’s Sunday Service gospel choir has reportedly been stripped of its charity status.

47-year-old rapper Ye (formerly Kanye West) is facing consequences due to his failure to submit tax returns for his group for a period of three years, following which a court ruling has been imposed on him. This comes after he encountered legal issues with former employees and was dropped from numerous high-profile deals due to his controversial anti-Semitic remarks.

According to the IRS website, the gospel group’s tax exemption status was revoked on May 15.

According to the U.S. Sun, the cause was failing to submit a Form 990-series tax return or notification for three years in a row.

Sunday Service was formed by Kim Kardashian’s ex-husband in 2019.

DailyMail.com has reached out to his representative for comment.

At first, it was granted an exception from paying federal income tax because it fell under the category of a non-profit organization recognized as a 501(c)(3).

These organizations can be categorized as those with religious, educational, philanthropic (charity), research-oriented (scientific), literary, ones focused on ensuring public safety, promoting national or international amateur sports, and those dedicated to the protection of children and animals.

As of August 12, the revocation of the charity status was still current.

Initially, Kanye West began his Sunday Service, where a gospel choir joined forces with him each weekend as the Grammy-winning artist took center stage.

In 2019, their inaugural public show took place at the Coachella festival, while later that year, they also worked together with Pastor Joel Osteen from Texas, who invited Kanye to perform at his church, Lakewood Church, in Houston, during November.

Tickets for the event were free, but holders resold them online for up to $500.

In 2020, several members and employees of Kanye’s Sunday Service group took legal action against him by filing class action lawsuits, claiming he had treated them unfairly.

Currently, over 500 artists and approximately 300 production staff assert that a former performer-cum-fashion designer breached California labor laws by failing to pay them fairly and providing insufficient meal and restroom breaks.

One of the individuals involved was Michael Pearson, who claimed he was paid a fixed daily wage of $250 without being given any breaks during his performances at Sunday Services.

As a devoted follower, I too assert that performers often found themselves standing for extended periods or sitting on the ground, and when transportation wasn’t available, they walked their way home.

In June, it was announced that Kanye West reached a settlement worth $1.35 million with over 200 Sunday Service participants and employees. However, they initially aimed to recover over $10.5 million in compensation.

Currently, Kim is working on a contract with Disney’s 20th Television to create scripted TV series.

Previously a mainstay on reality TV at age 43, she joined the projects following her roles in the latest season of FX’s American Horror Story and the upcoming Hulu legal drama All’s Fair. Both series are creations of the entertainment titan, Ryan Murphy, who is also a writer-director aged 58.

Under the terms of her initial partnership, the mother of four will collaborate with her friend La La Anthony (age 42) and Kenya Barris (age 50), the creator of Black-ish, on a television show inspired by La La’s popular book “The Love Playbook: Rules for Love, Sex, and Happiness.”

The upcoming series, titled Group Chat, is currently in development, according to Deadline. It’s said that Kenya is responsible for its creation, while La La, whose real name is Alani Nicole Vázquez, will take the lead role.

In a recent announcement regarding her newest professional venture, Kim expressed her deep passion for narrating tales that are deeply personal, complex, relatable, and stemming from her own life experiences and those close to her.
