Kanye West’s Daughter North, 11, Joins Him in the Recording Studio
On Tuesday, Kanye West posted heartwarming videos showing him mentoring his daughter North in the recording studio. Earlier, he expressed that her passion for music has rekindled his own love for it.
47-year-old rapper Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) is the father of North, age 11, with Kim Kardashian. The two were married until their split in 2022.
He shared glimpses of the work-in-progress for his 11th studio album “BULLY” on Instagram, inviting his 20.5 million followers to witness the behind-the-scenes action by bringing a young assistant along.
In a single monochrome clip, North was given a tour through an expansive storage facility. Later, he was seated at a table equipped with a microphone and speakers.
A second clip saw the rapper’s daughter get stuck in as she played around on a sampling keyboard.
He captioned the videos: ‘Training’ and ‘TRAINING 2.0’.
In the latest post, Kanye emphasized his admiration for his oldest child, by sharing a monochrome photo of her working in a recording studio, completing a series of three posts.
In a recent post (one of only three on his account, all added on Tuesday), he titled it: “This young lady rekindled my passion for music once more.
As a die-hard fan, I was overjoyed when she requested that I craft beats for her. Jumping right onto my ASR, I meticulously sliced and diced beats for her upcoming album. With raw passion, I manipulated each beat with nothing but my bare hands, pouring my heart and soul into the process – all in the name of creating something extraordinary for BULLY.
On September 24, the Grammy-winning rap artist unveiled that his upcoming 11th studio album will bear the title “BULLY”. He shared the official artwork for this venture a month later.
In March 2024, North unveiled plans for her first album, sharing that she would be premiering fresh tunes during her father’s Vultures 2 event.
Stepping into the limelight at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona, I revealed an unexpected announcement, with Kanye by my side as a supportive presence.
Hello there! It’s me, Northie, and I’ve been diligently crafting a new album. The title of this project is “Elementary School Drop Out,” which sparked an enthusiastic response, echoing with thunderous applause from the crowd.
With applause still echoing, Kanye beamed with pride as he gently steered his daughter from the stage, keeping a protective hand on her shoulders.
The title of North’s album, “Elementary School Drop Out,” seems to pay tribute to her father’s critically successful debut, “The College Dropout.” However, this reference has caused unease among many people.
Many took to X to express their discontent with the album name.
They wrote: ‘I’m praying she didn’t actually drop out of elementary school.’
‘So North West dropping an album called “Elementary School Drop-Out”!
Hi there! I find it truly inspiring when someone’s passion lies in music. However, I must admit, I’m curious about her choice of title for the album. It’s intriguing, and I can’t help but wonder if there’s a unique story behind it or if it serves as a powerful statement. Either way, I’m excited to see what this musical journey holds!
‘Did she actually drop out of elementary school?’
‘A kid with “Elementary School Dropout” as the title is wild.’
As a lifestyle guide, I’d say, “It’s quite common for young students to find the idea of dropping out appealing, perhaps even glamorous. However, it’s important to remember that living a life of luxury, like North West, is not a norm or an attainable reality for most.
Although many weren’t big fans of the name, others were extremely excited about the album drop.
‘North West’s debut album bout to have the hardest beats in child star history.’
‘There is no way North West gonna drop an album before Playboi Carti.’
‘COMING FOR THAT YOUNGEST GRAMMY WINNER TITLE OH IKTR!’
She has previously experienced the limelight, having performed alongside her father and younger sister (aged 7) on the track “Bomb” last year. A music video for this song was launched in November.
In the music video, the kids can be seen cruising around in vehicles reminiscent of Mad Max, all while being pursued by comically menacing creatures.
Originally, the track that’s jointly attributed to him and Ty Dolla Sign was debuted on their album Vultures 2, a project that received unfavorable reviews when it came out in August of last year.
In 2004, when Kanye West’s album “The College Dropout” initially came out, it inspired North and went on to sell more than four million copies around the globe.
Kanye West’s four-times-platinum album was not only a commercial success, but it also earned him three Grammys. These included the awards for Best Rap Album, Best Rap Song (for Jesus Walks), and Best R&B Song (You Don’t Know My Name).
It turns out that the North’s first musical appearance won’t be a solo debut, since she had already collaborated on a joint album with Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign, titled “Vultures,” in the past.
On the Talking/Once Again track, she can be heard rapping: ‘It’s your bestie. Miss, Miss Westy!’
‘Don’t tryna test me. It’s gonna get messy. Just, just bless me. Bless me!’
Last year, on February 7, North appeared in a music video featuring not one but two prominent rap artists.
A week ago, Kanye reunited with his kids, following 118 days of separation while he lives abroad, according to an exclusive report by DailyMail.com.
Over the past six months, the contentious hip-hop artist, often seen with his spouse Bianca Censori (an Australian), was recently observed in Japan alongside his three younger kids, who are from his previous marriage to Kim Kardashian, on a Tuesday outing.
DailyMail.com exclusively shares photographs and footage of West making a visit to a 7-Eleven convenience store in Tokyo’s Ginza district, accompanied by his children Saint (9), Chicago (6), and Psalm (5).
As a devoted father of four, I, clad entirely in black, exited the store, my little ones gripping bulky bags of treats, concluding a brief 10-minute shopping spree.
As a devoted follower, I wasn’t included in the recent group excursion, and it remains uncertain if my 11-year-old sister North accompanied her father to Japan with her siblings for a visit.
A bystander informed DailyMail.com that Kanye West, head of Yeezy, came in a black van accompanied by security personnel, and he politely declined taking selfies with people on the street.
According to the eyewitness, a black minivan emerged from the front, and immediately after, several children dashed inside, followed by Kanye West who seemed to be attempting to conceal himself by pulling up his hood and entering the 7-Eleven store.
‘The kids were buying up the store – they had two carrier bags full of random lollipops and snacks.
‘Myself and a couple of other families noticed him.’
In September, Kanye was recently spotted in public with his kids, as they all took the stage together during the Vultures 2 listening event held in Haikou, China.
