Studio Sirah, responsible for the game “Kurukshetra: Ascension,” has introduced their latest strategy title, “Kalpa: Mythic Hero Defense.” This fresh release is now accessible in early access on Android devices. Previously, the studio successfully secured $830,000 during seed funding and an additional $2.6 million in Pre-Series A. At present, there’s no word on when it might be released for iOS users.

Protect the spirit tree of creation from the waves of demonic Asuras

In this new strategic tower defense game, “Kalpa: Mythic Hero Defense,” you’ll be defending against hordes of mythical creatures as an Indian indie studio follows up on the success of their first major release, “Kurukshetra: Ascension.” This time, your mission is to safeguard the sacred world tree, known as Kalpa, by summoning legendary heroes to aid in the battle.

I’m captivated by the way this game seamlessly combines ancient Indian mythology with engaging, contemporary strategic elements. For those who appreciate Indian mythology, it promises a delightful experience as you lead legendary figures such as Bali, Sugriva, and Arjuna, each possessing unique abilities that reflect their timeless stories and legends.

Choose Boons, unlock new powers, and equip magical items

Beyond this, you’re given the flexibility to select potent blessings for Kalpa, enhance your characters, and arm yourself with mystical artifacts to tackle unyielding enemy formations. In terms of gameplay mechanics, it offers simplicity, allowing you to arrange your heroes, strategically use powerful abilities, and protect the tree of origin.

As a game enthusiast, being a fan of the same studio that brought us the acclaimed “Kurukshetra: Ascension,” which clinched the title of Google Play Store’s Best Indie Game in 2023, my anticipation for this new release is sky-high. And let me tell you, it’s living up to the hype so far! The visuals and art style are simply breathtaking, but I do find myself wishing it were in landscape mode instead of portrait.

The mythical hero-defense game, Kalpa, has launched its early access version on Android devices. To grab a copy, head over to the Google Play Store. At present, we don’t have any details about when it might become available on iOS. Keep an eye out for further announcements!
