Kaley Cuoco previously vowed to NEVER marry again – as she prepares for third wedding to Tom Pelphrey
As someone who has been following Kaley Cuoco’s journey for quite some time now, I must say it’s fascinating to see her love story unfold like a rollercoaster ride. From the whirlwind romance with Ryan Sweeting, the seemingly perfect match with Karl Cook, and now finding love again in Tom Pelphrey – it seems that Kaley has indeed found her ‘Happily Ever After’ in a more matured version of herself.
Actress Kaley Cuoco has announced her engagement to actor Tom Pelphrey, who stars in Ozark, making this her third walk down the aisle. She made this announcement on Wednesday.
As a devoted admirer, I was taken aback when I learned that the ex-star of The Big Bang Theory, now 38 years old, had once vowed against marriage following his two previous divorces.
Previously, Cuoco was wedded to former professional tennis player Ryan Sweeting (aged 37) from the years 2013 to 2016, and then to Olympic equestrian Karl Cook (aged 33) from 2018 until 2022.
In an interview with Glamour back in April 2022, a month prior to publicly acknowledging her relationship with Pelphrey, she expressed that she has no intention of getting married again.
“While I’m open to building a lasting bond or partnership, I don’t foresee myself entering another marriage.”
She added: “Definitely not, feel free to use that as a headline. However, I firmly believe in love due to my remarkable experiences with relationships. I am certain that such connections exist.”
‘I like being someone’s partner and having that companionship.’
In that very same chat, I found myself expressing that I hadn’t been seeing anyone romantically, instead choosing to pour my energy into nurturing my cherished friendships and my lovable canine companions.
But the following month, Cuoco was confirmed to be dating Pelphrey.
In October 2022, five months after the announcement, Cuoco and Pelphrey shared that they were welcoming their first child as a couple.
The blonde beauty gave birth to daughter Matilda, one, in March 2023.
The contented pair often share peeks into their blissful lifestyle in Thousand Oaks, California, complete with baby Matilda, on various social platforms.
While celebrating Matilda’s recent 1st birthday, the couple called it the ‘best year of our lives.’
2024 looks even more promising for the family, as Cuoco announced on Instagram on Wednesday that she and Pelphrey are now betrothed and preparing for marriage.
The Flight Attendant star showed off her diamond ring in a sweet social media snap.
Cuoco captioned the snap: ‘Amazing weekend.’
She and Pelphrey got together less than a year after she and her ex-husband Karl Cook separated.
Cook filed for divorce from the Big Bang Theory star, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’.
In their shared declaration, they both made clear that there was no lingering ‘ill-will or resentment’ between them following their separation.
“Even though we hold each other in great affection and admiration, we’ve come to understand that our individual journeys are leading us apart,” they explained instead.
“Although we’ve chosen to keep some parts of our personal lives private, we feel it’s important to be open about this particular matter. Rest assured, there is no hostility or conflict between us; quite the opposite.”
In the year that followed, Cuoco openly acknowledged that the divorce was a deeply challenging period for her. She also revealed that it was during this time that she sought professional help through therapy for the very first time.
Due to the severity of her depression, Cuoco requested her co-star from The Flight Attendant, Zosia Mamet, to live with her instead.
In August 2022, she shared with Variety that she desperately needed companionship as she felt her sanity slipping away. She had never experienced such profound solitude before, and it wasn’t typical for her to open up about her feelings.
In 2016, after she parted ways with Sweeting, Cuoco and Cook crossed paths at a horse show. They became engaged the next year.
In 2018, when they got married in a barn filled with horses, she started calling him her “ideal partner.”
Cuoco’s relationship with Sweeting unfolded swiftly, with them tying the knot only half a year after their initial encounter on a blind date, making it an incredibly rapid courtship.
In just over 1.8 years of wedded bliss, I found myself standing at the precipice of a heart-wrenching goodbye, as I chose to part ways with my beloved spouse. However, our decision was made amicably, and a representative for me clarified to PEOPLE that it was a mutual choice we both made.
However, in an interview with Cosmopolitan back in 2018, Cuoco stated that her former husband, Sweeting, underwent a significant transformation during their married life.
She admitted to the source, ‘I truly believed I wouldn’t remarry. My previous partner tarnished the meaning of marriage for me.’
‘Initially, I wed a person who later transformed dramatically. The individual I eventually came to know was quite different from the one I initially encountered. However, it wasn’t my doing that led to this change; it was his.’
