Kakao Games is launching a new, easy-to-play match-3 puzzle game called SMiniz. A closed beta test is currently available on Android devices until December 12th. Originally known as SM GAME STATION, the game features characters and content from SM Entertainment and is scheduled for a worldwide release in the first quarter of 2026.

Play with your favorite K-pop artists in chibi form and solve puzzles

SM Entertainment is launching a new game, SMiniz, similar to what HYBE did with their own casual title. This game is aimed at players around the world, with Kakao Games handling its global release. Developed by METABORA, SMiniz features adorable, miniature versions of SM Entertainment’s popular groups – known as Miniz – based on their existing IPs.

This game lets you play match-3 puzzles with characters from popular K-pop groups like NCT, aespa, and RIIZE. While I don’t usually follow K-pop, I’m a fan of aespa, particularly Karina and Winter, and I’m excited to see how the game portrays them as cute, smaller versions of themselves.

I’m a bit jealous of those participating in the Closed Beta Test – they get to experience lots of different content, like collecting artist photocards. The puzzle gameplay and character customization sound promising too. Thankfully, the developers plan to release the game worldwide soon after getting feedback from this test.

SMiniz is currently being tested with a limited group of Android users until December 12th. The full game is planned for release worldwide in the first three months of 2026, so keep an eye out for future news!
