Akatsuki Games’ KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME is a role-playing game (RPG) based on the hit anime series. The game features many different weapons that players can unlock and use to customize their units. This guide is a tier list of all the weapons in KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME, with advice on how to get the most powerful ones.
KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME Weapons Tier List
I’ve organized these weapons into nine categories: Handguns, Axes, Assault Rifles, Cannons, Twin Swords, Gunswords, Gatling Guns, Gauntlets, and Powered Suits. To keep things clear, I’ve also grouped them into four strength levels: Super Strong (SS), Strong (S), Good (A), and Average (B).

Best Meta Weapons from Each Class in KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME
1. Best Assault Rifle – AR-Boreas
I think the AR-Boreas is one of the best assault rifles, largely because it’s Reno Ichikawa’s preferred weapon. Using it helps him play even better and boosts his critical hit rate by 24 percent.
If you give this item to a fully ascended Reno, whenever he uses a Combat Skill, it will boost his Ice damage for three turns and also make his Ultimate Gauge fill faster for the same duration. What’s great is that this effect can happen twice, stacking the benefits!
2. Best Axe – Ax0112
The Ax-0112 is a top choice for weapons, particularly for Kikoru Shinomiya. If you’ve unlocked either the 5-star or 4-star version of Kikoru, equipping this weapon is highly recommended, as it increases her Slash damage by 20%.
Ax-0112 is a top-tier option, providing a powerful Slash Damage effect. When equipped, it grants the unit a damage boost before they attack a Kaiju that’s already weakened. Additionally, using the unit’s Combat Skill gives them an attack boost, which can stack up to three times.
3. Best Twin Swords – SW-Susanoo
The Twin Swords, specifically SW-Susanoo, are an excellent weapon choice for Soshiro Hoshina. It’s also obtainable through the gacha system alongside Soshiro himself, and significantly boosts critical damage when equipped with the 5-star version of the character.
Okay, so this weapon is awesome! Before my unit uses their Ultimate ability, it boosts their Combat Skill and Ultimate damage for three turns. Plus, after they use a regular Combat Skill, if there are only two or fewer Kaiju still standing, I get a speed boost for two turns. It’s a really good way to keep the pressure on!
4. Best Gunsword – GS-3305
I really like using Gunswords, especially with Gen Narumi, who’s my favorite character. The GS-3305 Gunsword is a great choice for Gunsword users, particularly 5-star Narumi. I managed to unlock both, and it gives over a 20% boost to Slash damage.
Beyond its primary effect, when a unit like Narumi uses a Combat Skill, it increases their damage output, and this bonus can stack up to three times. Additionally, using Narumi’s Ultimate ability charges the Ultimate Gauge for two turns.
5. Best Cannon – T-25101985
Fans of Mina Ashiro will be especially interested in this weapon, as the Cannon is her best choice. Although all five-star Cannons are powerful, this one is easier to get and significantly boosts her shot damage.
As a Mina fan, I’m telling you, definitely upgrade this weapon to 5 stars! It’s amazing because every time she’s about to do a normal attack, it gives her an attack boost *and* fills her Ultimate meter faster – and it lasts for two turns! The best part? It stacks twice, making her even more powerful. Seriously, it’s a game-changer for her.
6. Best Gatling Gun – GG-5012
If you’re looking for a great weapon for Rin Shinonome, especially if you’ve unlocked her 5-star version, the GG-5012 is an excellent choice. It’s one of the best Gatling Guns and also boosts your Shot Damage. Consider getting this weapon, or the GG-Iapetus, to maximize her potential.
This weapon increases the attack power of the unit it’s equipped to if there are at least three Kaiju in battle. Additionally, it grants a damage boost when the equipped unit uses a Combat Skill or Ultimate attack against a Kaiju that’s at half health or lower.
7. Best Gauntlet – Fs-1002
I’ve always liked Gauntlets, especially since Isao Shinomiya used them in the anime, and it was sad when his character died. Luckily, in the game, you can add him to your team. Pairing him with Fs-1002 gauntlets – one of the best 5-star options – is a great strategy. As a Defender, this combination provides a significant boost to his defense.
If you give this item to a 5-Star Isao, he’ll get a defense boost for one turn after being attacked. Plus, if the unit equipped with this item has a shield – like Isao – it also reduces the damage all your allies take.
8. Best Powered Suit – PS-Dobermann 52
Right now, powered suits aren’t at their full potential because there isn’t a 5-star option yet. However, the PS-Dobermann 52 is the best powered suit available-it’s a 4-star unit. If you’re using Eiji Hasegawa in your team, this is a great suit for him. It increases attack power and deals even more damage when fighting a Kaiju with an exposed core.
9. Best Handgun – HG-Beetle 15
Handguns are currently limited like powered suits – there aren’t any 5-star options available, and it doesn’t look like that will change soon. For now, the HG-Beetle 15 is the best 4-star handgun you can get. It pairs well with the character Hibino Kafka, and both are free to unlock, making them a great starting point until you find even better weapons.
As a Kafka fan, I’m really excited about this weapon! It gives him a solid 28% boost to his Attack, and when he uses his Combat Skill, it adds even more damage for two whole turns. It’s going to be amazing!
