KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME Beginners Guide and Tips

Guide for Kaiju No. 8 The Game

Kaiju No. 8 The Game is a role-playing game (RPG) that features turn-based battles, brought to us by Akatsuki Games Inc. This game, inspired by the famous anime series, allows you to assemble a team of four characters you like, fight battles, explore fresh storylines, and much more. In this guide for beginners, I will share some tips and strategies to enhance your gaming experience with Kaiju No. 8 The Game.

KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME Overview

To give you a good understanding of how the game operates, let’s dive right into an explanation of its mechanics. The story kicks off following the demise of Isao Shinomiya, a character who met his end in the anime as well. Shortly afterward, characters Kafka and Kikoru engage in battle with Yoju, who serves as your guide to mastering combat fundamentals.

In this setup, combat operates under an Action Order system where all participating units, including yours, move when they reach the end of time. During their turns, players can opt for Normal Attacks that earn SP or utilize Combat Skills with SP as the cost. The choice is yours during your turn.

Giant monsters known as Kaiju arrive equipped with protective shields (plates). These shields can be shattered by striking them with the correct element. When all shields are destroyed, they enter a vulnerable state called Core Exposure, which increases their susceptibility to damage and delays their next move. Additionally, allies can exploit this state to launch consecutive follow-up attacks.

Instead of shattering individual plates with various characteristics, Area of Effect (AOE) attacks allow simultaneous damage to numerous Kaiju plates. Additionally, once your gauge is completely filled, you may unleash your Ultimate attack, which not only does significant damage but also brings the character to the forefront in the Action Order. Similarly, each Kaiju has its own Ultimate Gauge as well.

Introducing the Basics of KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME

Characters

In the character menu, you have the option to view and boost your personal characters using Defense Force Manuals. Once a character has reached their maximum level, you can further elevate their level through a process called level unlock. Additionally, you’re able to change or upgrade weapons as well.

When you make draws in the gacha game, there’s a chance you could get multiple copies of characters, and these duplicates yield Talent Shards for you. These shards can then be utilized to elevate your preferred characters; as you progress through each Ascension phase, you gain access to stronger abilities.

Gacha

In this game, you have the option to employ units using Gacha Tickets or Dimensional Crystals. Additionally, these resources allow you to acquire weapons. The animation during the gacha pull is quite impressive, and it lets you bring in characters such as Soshiro Hoshina, a 4-star Support character, among others.

Kaiju

It’s important to note that the Kaiju are distinctly categorized into two types – Physical Type (PLT) and Elemental Type (PLT). Here’s a breakdown of what these categories entail:

1. Physical Type (PLT): These Kaiju primarily rely on physical attacks, utilizing their strength, durability, and agility to fight against opponents. Their power source is usually derived from their bodily structure or specific body parts.

2. Elemental Type (PLT): These Kaiju harness the elements, such as fire, water, earth, or air, to wage war. They often possess abilities that allow them to control and manipulate these elements for offensive and defensive purposes.

  • 3 Physical PLT: Slash, Blunt, and Shot.
  • 5 Elemental PLT: Fire, Ice, Wind, Lightning, and Water.

In simpler terms, players also possess Powerful Gauge meters, which become fully charged to unleash a potent special attack against you. Yet, there’s always a warning signal when the meter is full. Interestingly, you can interrupt this special attack and even slow down their gauge filling process by targeting and damaging the exposed Cores within the meter.

KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME Beginners Guide: Tips and Tricks

1. Break the Kaiju plates efficiently

In this scenario, Kaiju plates are crucial for victory, allowing you to fend off enemy assaults more effectively. To crack them swiftly, it’s important to coordinate your attacks with either Physical or Elemental properties that correspond to their weaknesses. Once the plates have been destroyed, the Core Exposed state presents an excellent opportunity to inflict immense damage and finally eliminate them.

2. Build a Balanced Team

To effectively tackle various Kaiju, it’s beneficial to have characters that can inflict both Physical and Elemental damage. Furthermore, having a support character in your team is crucial. This way, you’ll always possess the necessary attributes to eliminate different types of Kaiju. A balanced team with both damage dealers and support characters also tends to perform well.

3. Don’t waste SP by randomly using Combat Skills

Instead of immediately using your Combat Skills when your SP gauge is full, consider holding back for a more strategic approach. You might want to save SP or opt for regular attacks to accumulate more, especially in those crucial moments before shattering the final plates of the Kaiju for improved victory odds. Timing the use of Combat Skills like Kaiju No. 8’s can lead to striking all enemies effectively.

4. Pay attention to warnings

You’re aware that once the Kaiju’s Ultimate Gauge is fully charged, a warning is displayed. To avoid taking heavy damage or losing the game, it’s advisable to either postpone the gauge filling, interrupt their ultimate attack, or swiftly defeat them while they’re weakened. Failing to heed this warning could lead to significant harm.

5. Time your Ultimates for Core Exposed state

As a dedicated player, I always ensure I’m making the most out of my game mechanics. It’s crucial to strategically utilize both my Normal Attacks and Combat Skills, as this helps me build up the gauge for my Ultimate ability. When the Kaiju is in its vulnerable Core Exposed state, I like to unleash my Ultimate for maximum damage output. Moreover, since using an Ultimate moves my character to the front of the Action Order, it’s a great tool for disrupting enemy Ultimates.

6. Enhance your characters and Ascend them

Whenever you gather enough Defense Force Manuals, it’s important to improve your characters. Once they reach their maximum level, consider triggering a limit break. Additionally, employ Talent Shards to elevate your characters, as this will unlock potent effects at every Ascension tier.

The game titled “KAIJU NO. 8” delivers an enjoyable role-playing experience, mirroring the ongoing popular series.
