Kaia Gerber gives rare comment on brother Presley as she calls their childhood memories ‘contradictory’

Kaia Gerber has talked about what it was like growing up with her parents, supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber.

In the February 2026 issue of Harper’s Bazaar, the 24-year-old model described her childhood as surprisingly normal and quite secluded.

Growing up, I attended public school and was very involved in the arts,” Gerber explained. “I participated in local theater productions, choir, singing recitals, and I also danced.

She shared that whenever her family visited New York City, she always requested to attend a Broadway performance. She excitedly recalled seeing ‘Wicked’ eight times and having completely memorized the lyrics to ‘Rent’ by the age of nine.

The Palm Royale actress rarely talks about her brother, but she recently shared that her memories of childhood don’t quite match his. He remembers growing up in Malibu, California, differently than she does.

Gerber recently shared how reflecting on her childhood has been a surprisingly complex experience. She and her older brother often remember events completely differently, which she finds fascinating and insightful – it’s shown her that people can have very different perspectives on the same events. She was speaking after a recent vacation with her boyfriend, Lewis Pullman, at her parents’ home in Cabo.

Gerber shared this news shortly after Presley openly discussed his frightening struggles with mental health.

The 26-year-old model shared a heartfelt black and white video on Instagram on December 1st, revealing he’s been taking medication to help with his night terrors and panic attacks.

He started by saying he believes in being honest, and then shared that he’s currently taking 1 milligram of Buprenorphine twice daily to manage pain and address a history of opioid use.

Let me tell you, managing anxiety has been a real journey for me. I’ve found my need for medication, specifically benzodiazepines, really ebbs and flows with whatever’s happening in my life – sometimes I need more, sometimes less, it’s all about finding that balance.

Benzodiazepines, often called benzos, are medications that calm the brain and nervous system. They’re used to treat anxiety and other mental health issues, as explained by the Cleveland Clinic.

Presley mentioned he occasionally takes a small amount of Xanax, either at night or when he experiences severe panic attacks.

He mentioned taking Valium in the morning, but wasn’t sure if it was a small or large dose, admitting he’d lost track.

The model added in the clip that ‘doctors say a lot of different things so it’s kind of scary.’

He expressed hope that through a combination of his own work, the efforts of others, and simply with time and luck, they would eventually find an answer.

Gerber explained that she started being homeschooled at 15, as her modeling career was beginning to gain momentum.
