The third season of Tracker started with two main cast members leaving the show. Colter is having a hard time processing a disturbing secret about his family, while Reenie is dealing with her own emotional pain in damaging ways. As Justin Hartley’s popular series continues to be innovative, the dramatic mid-season finale is a prime example.
When Keaton enlists Colter’s help to find his missing former partner, the two independent investigators stumble upon a large-scale criminal plot. After Dobbs is found murdered, Colter and Keaton continue to pursue the truth, but the episode ends with a strong hint that a main character will soon die.
Tracker’s Midseason Finale Brings Back Brent Sexton’s Keaton in High-Stakes Investigation
Keaton was first introduced in Season 2 of Tracker during the “Trust Fall” episode. While searching for lost hikers, Colter encountered Keaton, a former police officer pursuing a serial killer. They teamed up to capture the killer and then located Colter’s missing hikers. Once both cases were solved, Keaton offered to assist Colter with future investigations. Colter, who prefers working alone, then asked Keaton for help with a particularly challenging cold case: the disappearance of Gina Picket.
I was on the edge of my seat during the midseason finale! It was called “Night Movers,” and it started with Keaton calling Colter – he’d finally found something that could help them figure out what happened to Gina. From there, things moved quickly, and Colter and Keaton made some really big discoveries in the case. It felt like they were finally getting closer to the truth!
After gathering some additional details, investigators questioned their main suspect and learned the truth about what happened to Gina Picket. They arrested a serial killer who manipulated young men into helping him kidnap women.
Colter was approached for assistance in finding his former colleague, Dobbs. Their search led them to a dairy farm where they unearthed several buried corpses. Randy’s investigation revealed the farmer was being bribed by the Armenian mafia. As Colter and Keaton continued their investigation, they discovered a hitman was always one step ahead.
Colter’s Job Takes a Deadly Turn in Tracker’s Shocking Winter Finale
Colter arrived at Menassian’s apartment, a known mobster, only to find him murdered. A security camera was present, and Colter had Randy access its footage. The video revealed Dobbs had killed Menassian, but also showed who had kidnapped Dobbs: a contract killer named Lang, who everyone believed was dead. Lang was investigating a criminal network, specifically searching for a woman named Cassie Lindstrom.
Okay, so Colter and Keaton finally tracked down the phone Dobbs lifted from Menassian, and it led us to a pretty grim scene. They found a car wreck, and Dobbs was just…lying there, barely alive, by the river. He managed to get a few words out to Keaton before he passed away. It was rough, especially knowing the phone hadn’t been taken far from where they found him.
So, we find out the car leads to a guy named Bradley White, and Colter and Keaton get there shortly after Lang – but tragically, not in time to save White. While I was carefully checking the house, Keaton freed a woman who’d been tied up. Then, stepping outside, he spotted Lang stuffing a file box into his car and, without hesitation, opened fire on him. It was a tense moment, to say the least!
Lang shot Keaton in the stomach. Colter found Keaton, quickly got him into the car, and drove urgently to the hospital. During the drive, Colter pressed Keaton for information about what he’d learned from the woman he’d spoken to. Between coughing up blood and apologizing, Keaton managed to tell Colter that Lang was searching for Cassie Lindstrom. Keaton was in critical condition and needed immediate medical care to survive.
The situation rapidly deteriorates for the survivalist when someone attacks their car, shooting Colter and causing it to crash. The episode ends with the car overturned after falling off a cliff, leaving Keaton in critical condition. He urgently needed medical help before the accident, and even if Colter recovers quickly, Keaton’s chances of survival look bleak.
The show Tracker often deals with serious and even dark subjects, but it’s always protected its main characters. However, the latest episode suggests a major character, Keaton, might be killed off – something Tracker has never done before. Viewers will find out what happens to Keaton and Colter when the show returns on March 1st.
