Justin H Min lands first movie role since Umbrella Academy ending
As a gamer with a soft spot for well-crafted narratives and captivating performances, I can’t help but feel excited about Justin H Min’s new role in Jason Biggs’ directorial debut, “Getaway”. Having binge-watched “The Umbrella Academy” and being intrigued by Min’s portrayal of Ben Hargreeves, it’s fascinating to see him step into a completely different character.
The Umbrella Academy‘s Justin H Min has landed his first role since the show ended.
The actor known for his role as Ben Hargreeves on the popular Netflix series has been chosen to feature in Jason Biggs’ first directorial project, titled “Getaway.” This news is brought to us by Deadline.
In addition to Min, Biggs will be featured in the upcoming movie. Other actors joining them are Meaghan Rath from “Hawaii Five-0”, Arturo Castro from “Broad City”, and Anna Konkle known for her work on “PEN15”.
The upcoming series, titled “Getaway“, will focus on the life of Kevin Stanwell, a well-known actor recognized mainly for his role in commercials addressing erectile dysfunction issues.
In an attempt to rekindle their relationship, Kevin devises a plan: he organizes a romantic getaway for him and his wife Suzie in the Adirondacks. To add some excitement, he enlists the help of his actor friend Ernie by staging a fake home invasion scenario where Kevin can save the day like a hero. Unfortunately, things don’t go as planned, leading to an unforeseen complication – they find themselves entangled in a murder investigation instead.
The screenplay for the currently ongoing project titled “Getaway” being filmed in Canada, is penned by Jamie Napoli and Joshua Paul Johnson.
Brad Krevoy, Charles Cohen, Jimmy Philémond-Montout, and David Anselmo are serving as producers, with Amy Krell taking on the role of executive producer.
I’m over the moon to kick off my directing career with the genre-blending film titled Getaway. This project is being collaboratively produced by Brad Krevoy and MPCA, Charles Cohen, and an extraordinary cast featuring Meaghan Rath, Anna Konkle, Justin Min, and Arturo Castro,” Biggs expressed in a statement.
As a gamer, diving into the captivating narrative penned by Jamie and Joshua felt like unearthing a hidden treasure. Knowing that I’d get a chance to breathe life into this one-of-a-kind tale left me thrilled, and I can’t express enough gratitude for being part of the journey.
More recently, Min appeared in the film titled “The Greatest Hits, ” which made its debut at SXSW in March. He shared with Digital Spy that the concept of traveling through time using music resonated strongly with him as it seemed particularly genuine.
He stated, “I truly think that music can transport us to particular moments in our lives. This sensation has always been incredibly genuine and tangible for me, so when I encountered a script that seemed to confirm this experience as something real, I felt excited and delighted, like ‘This is fantastic, this is marvelous’.
Getaway does not yet have a release date.
