Justin Bieber recently praised the Australian man who bravely stopped one of the attackers at Bondi Beach.
A video of Ahmed Al-Ahmed bravely tackling and disarming the shooter, Sajid Akram, during Sunday’s attack has quickly spread online. Many people, including a famous pop star, are now celebrating Al-Ahmed as a hero for his courageous actions.
On Tuesday, the 31-year-old singer was live on Twitch, talking with friends backstage about the tragic event that killed 15 people and injured 26 others.
‘The story, it’s just crazy,’ Bieber could be heard exclaiming.
He really is a hero, that person who managed to disarm one of the shooters. It was unbelievable – did you happen to see the video?
The singer, known for ‘Baby,’ continued by telling his friends, ‘He managed to take the gun away from the man on the beach!’

The owner of a Bondi Beach tobacco shop, Mr. Al-Ahmed, has shared his experience from the hospital after bravely confronting one of the attackers and being seriously injured. Mr. Al-Ahmed was born in Syria.
Many people are celebrating the 43-year-old’s bravery, but his heroic actions came with a heavy price for him personally.
After challenging the gunman, he was shot in the shoulder and arm while taking cover behind a tree. He is currently receiving medical treatment at St George Hospital.
In his first statement since being hospitalized, Mr. Al Ahmed told TRT World he was grateful for all the support he’d received.
He offered a blessing in Arabic – a wish for reward and good health – as he was wheeled away on a hospital bed, with a nurse assisting him.
‘Through Allah, I went through a very difficult phase, only Allah knows it,’ he continued.
‘I ask my mother, the apple of my eye, to pray for me. Pray for me, my mother.
‘God willing, it will be a minor injury.

‘Pray for me that Allah eases our situation, and delivers us from this hardship.’
Sam Issa, who previously handled his immigration case and visited him on Monday, said his injuries are more serious than initially believed, according to The Australian.
He’s undergoing several surgeries to treat five gunshot wounds. The injuries are much more severe than what’s been publicly stated.
He currently reports numbness in his arm. While I’m not a doctor, he believes a bullet may have damaged a nerve.
Oh my gosh, it’s just… it’s so awful! I read that poor Mr. Al-Ahmed still had the bullet lodged in his shoulder as of last night! Dr. Issa even said the injury was… well, he called it ‘weird,’ which is just… ugh. It’s so concerning that they haven’t been able to remove it yet, and that ‘weird’ detail is really sticking with me. I’m just so worried about him!
Mr. Issa found it odd that the man was shot in the back of the shoulder, considering he was facing the shooter. ‘It just doesn’t make sense,’ he said.
There are fears that Mr Al-Ahmed could lose his arm.
‘He said he’d do it again,’ Mr Issa said.
The pain is really getting to him now. He’s seriously injured, covered in bullet wounds, and is having a very hard time.
