Justin Bieber and former mentor Usher embroiled in ‘heated exchange’ at Oscars afterparty

Sources say Justin Bieber and Usher got into a tense argument at Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s afterparty following the Oscars on Sunday.

Okay, so I’ve been following everything, and apparently, it was Usher who went to Justin first – not the other way around! People who are really in the know are saying Usher was pretty fired up, even a little angry, when he talked to Justin. But they swear, swear it never got physical, even though some other sources are spreading rumors about a full-on fistfight. Honestly, I think it was just a heated discussion, and those other people are just trying to stir up drama!

According to TMZ, Bieber has been accused of consistently being disrespectful to Usher, and this behavior seems to be part of a pattern where he’s trying to distance himself from people he used to know.

When Justin Bieber was just 13 and 14 years old, Usher and Scooter Braun helped launch his career. They signed him to their record label after successfully outbidding Justin Timberlake to work with him.

Oh my gosh, can you believe both Justin and Usher were mentored by Diddy way back when they were starting out? It’s amazing to think about! They were both so young and Diddy really helped shape their careers. It just makes me appreciate their journeys even more knowing that connection!

Last May, Justin Bieber publicly refuted long-standing rumors claiming Sean Combs (Diddy) had abused him as a child. A representative for Bieber stated he was not one of Combs’ accusers.

The Daily Mail reached out to Usher and Justin Bieber’s teams for a response, but they haven’t heard back yet.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, along with Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner, were among the many celebrities at Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s Oscars afterparty.

The event drew a star-studded crowd including Ryan Coogler, Michael B. Jordan, Jacob Elordi, Teyana Taylor, Vin Diesel, Sofia Vergara, Austin Butler, Emma Stone, Emma Watson, Jon Batiste, Chloe Bailey, and Vanessa and Natalia Bryant.

Hailey Bieber (formerly Baldwin) and her close friend, supermodel Kendall Jenner, were also invited to the event.

Despite many celebrities attending Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s party, no one has publicly said they saw any argument between Justin Bieber and Usher.

In 2007, at just 13 years old, Justin Bieber became an internet sensation by posting singing videos on YouTube. These videos caught the attention of Scooter Braun and Usher, who then helped launch his career.

I remember when they signed Justin – it was clear he had something special! We really focused on nurturing his talent and helping him navigate the path to becoming a global superstar. He even spent some time living with his mom in Atlanta, working closely with Usher – it was an amazing experience to be a part of his journey.

In a 2010 interview on the French radio show Le 6/9, Usher explained that he strives to be a supportive figure, like an older brother, guiding and protecting those around him.

Braun quickly became a leading music manager, representing major artists like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and Demi Lovato.

He revealed he was retiring in June 2024, just after ending his professional partnership with Bieber.

Justin Bieber and his former manager, Scooter Braun, had a falling out that led to a major financial dispute. According to TMZ sources, they reached a settlement last year where Bieber reportedly paid $26 million to cover costs from the cancellation of his 2022 Justice tour.

The agreement also supposedly required Bieber to cover half of the $11 million in commissions that Braun said he was still owed.

Following the serious allegations made against Diddy – which he denies – people began looking closely at past relationships between Usher, Bieber, and the music executive.

Following a widely covered trial, Diddy was cleared of the major accusations against him – sex trafficking and racketeering – last July. However, he was convicted on two less severe charges related to transporting people for the purpose of prostitution.

The scandal intensified when an old video appeared showing him with a young Justin Bieber, then 15, talking about plans to spend ’48 hours’ together.

Diddy said he’s spending 48 hours with someone, but he’s keeping the details of their activities private. He described it as something a 15-year-old would absolutely love.

I’m currently responsible for his care. He’s signed with Usher, and I previously had legal guardianship over Usher when he released his first album. While I don’t have legal guardianship now, he’ll be with me for the next two days, and we’re planning to have a lot of fun.

Justin Bieber, standing beside Diddy in the video, mostly just offered brief, minimal responses to the conversation, saying things like ‘Yeah’ and ‘Totally crazy.’

A newly discovered video shows Diddy questioning a 16-year-old Justin Bieber about why they hadn’t been in touch or spending time together like they used to.

Bieber seemed worried and explained that Diddy had attempted to reach him, but never managed to get his phone number. He then offered to share his number.

After the recent issues with Diddy, fans became increasingly worried about Justin Bieber, particularly because he looked tired and unkempt.

Rumors were flying so intensely that Justin Bieber had to issue a denial, through his representative, that Diddy had ever sexually abused him.

The statement, given to TMZ, acknowledged that while Justin wasn’t affected by Sean Combs’ actions, others were truly harmed. It emphasized that minimizing these harms would be a disservice to the victims and their pursuit of justice.

When Usher was 15, his manager, L.A. Reid, arranged for him to live in Los Angeles with Diddy for a year. This experience, often called ‘Puffy Flavor Camp,’ was designed to help Usher develop his skills and artistry.

Usher described the experience as chaotic and bizarre, admitting he didn’t fully grasp what was happening, during an appearance on The Howard Stern Show in 2016.

When asked if he would send his kids to ‘Puffy Flavor Camp,’ Usher firmly replied, ‘Absolutely not!’
