Justin Baldoni’s father praises son for overcoming a ‘year full of turmoil and injustice’ amid Blake Lively legal battle

Justin Baldoni celebrated his 42nd birthday with his family, even as his ongoing and contentious legal battle with Blake Lively continues in court.

As a lifestyle observer, I’ve been following the buzz around the ‘It Ends With Us’ film, and it’s really touching to see the support Justin Baldoni is receiving. His father, Sam, recently shared a beautiful and incredibly personal message about Justin’s birth and the strength he’s shown, especially considering what’s been a challenging year for him. It’s a lovely reminder of the power of family and celebrating someone’s character, even during tough times.

Oh my gosh, happy birthday to Justin! Seriously, I was so moved by what Sam shared. He said when Justin was born, it was totally unexpected how hard it would be. Apparently, Sharon was in labor for over 34 hours – can you even imagine?! – and they ended up needing a C-section. It just makes me love them even more, knowing what they went through to bring Justin into the world! It was their first baby, and it sounds intense.

Sam remembered the incredible feeling of first holding his newborn son and gently resting him against his mother’s cheek. He described it as a deeply moving and spiritual moment, feeling a profound connection to something greater than himself.

He said that bringing this pet into their home years ago brought so much happiness, and even now, his spirit continues to brighten the lives of everyone he touches.

He also commended Justin Baldoni’s strong commitment to his family and his wife, Emily. He expressed how much he admires Justin’s unwavering love and devotion to his ‘wonderful’ wife, Emily, whom he considers a beloved daughter-in-law.

The post ended with a pointed reference to Baldoni’s ongoing legal turmoil.

My son, watching you navigate this difficult year with such unwavering faith has been incredibly inspiring. You’ve held onto what’s right, believing in truth and justice, and it fills me with pride. Happy Birthday, my dear – I love you more than words can say, with every part of me.

This show of support for Baldoni happens while he’s currently involved in a serious legal dispute with Lively. In December 2024, Lively filed a lawsuit against him, alleging sexual harassment, unfair retaliation, and causing intentional emotional distress.

In court documents, Lively claimed that Baldoni repeatedly sexually harassed her, including making demeaning comments about her body, and also worked to deliberately harm her career and public image.

The lawsuit also included Baldoni’s colleagues and business associates, such as his company Wayfarer Studios, its CEO and primary investor, and the individuals handling public relations.

Baldoni has denied the allegations.

He first sued The New York Times for $250 million, claiming a report about allegations made by Lively caused him harm.

Oh my god, it was Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and even her publicist, Leslie Sloane, who were all tangled up in this… this whole mess! Can you believe it? But thankfully, the case was dismissed back in June. Everyone involved – and I mean everyone – has completely denied everything, said it’s all just a big misunderstanding. I just want them to be happy and focus on their amazing work, honestly!

Text messages between Blake Lively and Taylor Swift surfaced earlier this week as part of the legal battle over the book ‘It Ends With Us’.

I’ve been following this case, and it’s come out that these two were apparently saying some pretty negative things about Baldoni. It’s especially upsetting because he not only acted with them in the movie, but he also directed it! It just seems really unprofessional and hurtful.

Sources say Lively playfully called Baldoni a ‘silly director’ regarding their film, and Swift responded with enthusiastic support, saying she’d do whatever Lively asked.

Following a discussion about revisions to the script, Lively sent Swift a text message praising her as an incredibly supportive friend.

In separate conversations, Taylor Swift gave Lively advice about featuring one of her songs in the movie and hinted that Baldoni wasn’t making smart decisions.

Shortly before a major New York Times article about Lively’s accusations appeared in December 2024, Swift sent a text message saying she believed Baldoni suspected something was about to happen, sarcastically referring to him as someone who was playing the victim.

Court documents claim Lively spoke negatively about Baldoni to several of her famous friends, such as Matt and Lucy Damon, and Ben Affleck. She reportedly called Baldoni a ‘chaotic clown’ to Affleck.

According to court documents filed by Baldoni’s legal team, on April 12, 2023, Lively asked Swift for help getting approval for a new version of the script. In her request, she referred to Baldoni, the film’s director, with insulting terms like ‘doofus’ and ‘clown,’ and also claimed he was falsely presenting himself as a writer.

One message from Lively read: ‘You don’t have to read of course.’

Lively’s lawyers denied she asked Taylor Swift to approve the screenplay before reading it, stating she simply expressed a wish that Swift would.

After a meeting at Lively’s home, Swift reportedly approved the updated document. Lively then wrote: ‘You were amazing today… This person… is completely falling for it.’

Lively’s side disputed claims that Swift agreed to do her ‘bidding.’

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve heard some interesting stories, but this one takes the cake! Apparently, Lively confided in friends like Damon, Lucy Damon, and Affleck that she completely revamped the script and took the reins on directing the actors. It sounds like she felt very much in control of the creative process – maybe a little too in control, according to her legal team!

According to a text message reportedly sent to Affleck, Lively completely rewrote and reorganized the script. She also said she essentially had to direct the film herself, due to the disorganized and multi-faceted role of the person in charge – who was also the actor, producer, financier, and head of the studio.

Her lawyers did not dispute the message’s contents but said it should be taken in context.

The documents also state that Lively asked several well-known celebrities – such as Bradley Cooper, Taylor Swift, Matt Damon, and Ben Affleck – and author Colleen Hoover to publicly back her idea for the movie instead of Baldoni’s.

Despite having bought the rights to the book, Sony decided to release the film based on the screenplay by Lively, following accusations of misconduct against Baldoni during production.
