Justin Baldoni misses court deadline in lawsuits against Blake Lively and NY Times as her demands are revealed

Justin Baldoni didn’t file an appeal within the deadline, meaning his lawsuit against Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and The New York Times – which sought millions in damages for defamation – has been dismissed.

Recently filed court documents obtained by Daily Mail show that Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and The New York Times have officially won their legal battle against Baldoni, as his lawsuits have been dismissed.

The actor and director, age 52, was given a chance to appeal a court decision from June, but he didn’t take action before the deadline passed.

This ruling is a significant setback for Baldoni, who had filed a $400 million lawsuit against the New York Times. The suit claimed the newspaper harmed his reputation with a report about allegations of sexual harassment on the set of the movie It Ends With Us, made by Blake Lively. Baldoni has consistently denied these allegations.

The legal battle began last year when Lively claimed Baldoni acted inappropriately during filming. Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios, responded by suing Lively, her publicist Leslie Sloane, and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for defamation.

The planned counterattack failed, meaning Baldoni is now solely defending against Lively’s sexual harassment lawsuit.

Lively is requesting that Baldoni cover her legal costs from fighting his unsuccessful lawsuit, based on recently submitted court documents.

The Daily Mail has contacted representatives for actors Justin Baldoni, Blake Lively, and Ryan Reynolds, seeking additional information about this story.

The news follows recent claims in the ongoing legal battle between the two former co-stars. These claims allege that one actor secretly used technology to damage the other’s reputation.

According to a court document obtained by the Daily Mail, lawyers for 38-year-old Lively allege that Baldoni and his team—including attorneys, agents, and PR professionals—used digital methods to hide important evidence during the legal case.

The legal team argued that the defendants consistently obstructed the process of gathering evidence, either by refusing to hand over documents or by incorrectly claiming those documents were protected by attorney-client privilege.

Lively’s legal team claims Baldoni’s actions have led to at least twelve requests for information and legal arguments from them so far.

According to Deadline, a former colleague of Baldoni’s at the PR firm Jonesworks LLC – which is also involved in the case – made comparable claims in a court filing on Wednesday.

Lawyers for Blake Lively, who is married to Ryan Reynolds, stated in a legal filing that Jason Baldoni worked with people from Wayfarer Studios and public relations professionals like Melissa Nathan and Jennifer Abel. They allege this involved using apps and automatically deleting messages to coordinate efforts.

According to court documents, Lively’s legal team alleges that Baldoni and his associates collaborated to damage her reputation using various digital tools, including the Signal app, voice recordings, and other software.

According to Lively’s legal team, Baldoni and his colleagues took steps to hide information, likely because they anticipated a lawsuit and knew the information would be damaging if revealed.

According to legal documents reviewed by Deadline, details about Signal and related projects came from interviews with former Nathan employees, Katherine Case and Breanna Butler.

The actress from Gossip Girl accused Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment during the filming of their movie, It Ends with Us, which became unexpectedly popular when released in August of last year. Baldoni has stated that the accusation is false.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following the buzz around this film, and while it initially did incredibly well – bringing in $148 million domestically and a whopping $350 million worldwide – all that success is now unfortunately being overshadowed. It’s a shame, because the positive feelings people had about the movie are really taking a backseat to the serious allegations coming from some of the stars involved.

The film featured Jenny Slate, Hasan Minhaj, Brandon Sklenar, and Kevin McKidd, and was adapted from Colleen Hoover’s 2016 novel.

The movie’s plot focused on the unhealthy and damaging relationship between Lily Bloom, portrayed by Blake Lively, and Ryle Kincaid, played by Justin Baldoni.

The movie follows Lily as she builds a new life after a difficult childhood. When she meets a neurosurgeon, they connect, but Lily soon discovers troubling similarities between him and her own parents, forcing her to confront her past.

Last December, Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni, alleging sexual harassment, unfair retaliation, and causing intentional emotional distress.

The actress filed a lawsuit alleging that Baldoni sexually harassed her, made demeaning comments about her body, and tried to ruin her career with a deliberate smear campaign.

In her legal complaint, Lively identified several people who worked with Baldoni, such as his production company, Wayfarer Studios, the company’s CEO and investor, and publicists Nathan and Abel.

Initially, Baldoni sought $250 million in damages from The New York Times due to a published report. He later included this claim in a larger $400 million lawsuit filed in January.

Baldoni filed a lawsuit naming Blake Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and Lively’s publicist, Leslie Sloane. The suit referenced the previously mentioned report, but a judge dismissed it in June.

All parties have denied all of the allegations against them.
