The long-awaited film, titled “Jurassic World Rebirth”, has arrived, but it poses a significant challenge for the franchise. You see, despite being hailed as the best “Jurassic Park” movie in 28 years, this is a considerable hurdle for the series because most of its subsequent sequels have failed to live up to Steven Spielberg’s 1993 original. With four contemporary sequels already produced, the franchise struggles to understand what makes the original so captivating.

In contrast to the other five Jurassic Park films, the 2025 movie, titled Jurassic World Rebirth, deviates from the dinosaur theme park narrative. Instead, it follows a group of smugglers who venture into an InGen research facility where genetically-altered dinosaurs were developed. Throughout their adventure, they encounter hybrid monsters.

However, it’s still better than the rest of the Jurassic Park movies.

Among the original Jurassic Park trilogy, Jurassic Park III is often considered the weakest due to its repetitive plot, which mirrors the first two movies. This repetition has made it largely overlooked by most viewers. Contrastingly, when Jurassic World was released in 2015, it received some enthusiasm, but over time, it’s been criticized heavily for being an almost identical replica of the first Jurassic Park, with less depth and more military-style Velociraptors.

While Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom boasts an intriguing aesthetic, its narrative falls short of expectations. It fails to measure up to both the original and The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and the introduction of dinosaurs into our world is no exception. Regrettably, Jurassic World Dominion emerges as the weakest film in the series, offering a tedious, drawn-out sequel that leans heavily on nostalgia by reintroducing familiar characters.

This film boasts a fresh ensemble of characters and steers clear from relying on the nostalgia generated by the original movie. Instead, it presents a distinct narrative, departing from the typical plot where dinosaurs are in unsuitable environments, breaking free, and wreaking havoc until humans manage to flee.

Rebirth Is A Big Improvement On The Last Two Jurassic World Movies

It Fixes A Few Of Jurassic World’s Flaws

It is worth mentioning that the latest addition to the Jurassic Park series, titled “Jurassic World Rebirth,” surpasses the previous four movies in quality. Particularly, it outshines the last two installments of “Jurassic World” – specifically “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” and “Jurassic World Dominion.” While these latter films have some supporters, they were generally panned by critics and audiences alike. Most fans of the franchise concur that these sequels do not measure up to the original or even the 2015 reboot.

In comparison to the last two films, Jurassic World: Rebirth seems much more authentic. The characters have well-developed storylines, and the plot feels like a compelling tale that an individual wanted to share, rather than a studio-mandated sequel’s obligatory narrative. Admittedly, these are low standards, but the Jurassic Park series rarely achieves them.

2025’s Jurassic World film breaks free from the complex narrative of its preceding trilogy, which is definitely a positive change. The intricate InGen conspiracy, human cloning, armed raptors, secret dinosaur sales, and coexisting dinosaurs with humans were simply too much to follow, especially when the story lacked the depth needed to keep viewers engaged.

There Is A Lot Wrong With The Movie

Although Jurassic World: Dominion surpasses some of its earlier versions, it remains a movie with significant issues. One of the major problems with the film lies in its lack of meaningful content. Unlike Jurassic Park, whose central dramatic debate is what makes its narrative intriguing, Jurassic World: Dominion strays from this concept and fails to introduce a theme that compensates for it.

In “Jurassic World: Reborn”, it’s quite straightforward to foresee what will happen. Right from the start, you can tell which secondary characters are doomed, and the same goes for the movie’s surprise antagonist. The characters don’t evolve at all throughout the story. They arrive on the island with a specific objective, achieve it exactly as planned, and depart without any significant plot twists or character growth.

The movie is significantly less appealing compared to its 1993 version, largely due to the fact that almost every scene is overexposed or poorly lit. This unfortunate trend of poor lighting has been prevalent in Hollywood for quite some time now. Furthermore, the editing pace of Jurassic World Rebirth feels peculiar and disjointed, filled with unnecessary inserts and abrupt cutaways that confuse viewers and hinder their ability to follow along with the scene effectively.

Rebirth Is Another Reminder That Nothing Will Come Close To Jurassic Park

Steven Spielberg’s Original Can’t Be Beat

The latest installment, titled “Jurassic World Rebirth,” falls short once again, leaving spectators yearning for the magic that only Steven Spielberg’s “Jurassic Park” could deliver. The nearly flawless film “Jurassic Park” boasts a compelling narrative thread, captivating character development, exceptional direction, and groundbreaking technology that managed to capture the essence of genius.

Coming up with an entirely fresh and innovative movie that incorporates all these elements, especially within the limited framework of a franchise like Jurassic Park, is quite a challenge. It’s difficult to imagine how Jurassic World Rebirth could rival the original’s quality given that six previous sequels have demonstrated that such a feat might be impossible.
