Jurassic World Rebirth has set a new record with its “outstanding” opening at the box office.

On July 2nd, the fourth installment of the rebooted “Jurassic” series, which is the seventh film in total, premiered in theaters, and based on its box office performance, it’s been well-received by audiences.

It’s been reported by Variety that the sci-fi action movie has raked in an impressive $318.3 million globally during its initial five days, surpassing all other Hollywood films this year to date as the highest opening. While it falls slightly short compared to previous installments in the series, the figure remains a staggeringly large amount.

According to David A Gross of the consulting firm FranchiseRe, the series has been exceptionally well-received internationally, and its foreign business has been extraordinary so far. It seems that dinosaur action appeals universally, transcending language barriers and cultural differences.

Contrarily, although Ne Zha 2 holds the record for the largest opening weekend in 2025 with an astounding $432 million, it’s not the movie that garnered the most overall earnings that year. In fact, it managed to make over $2.2 billion in total box office sales, placing it among the top five highest-grossing films of all time.

This year, no Hollywood movies have managed to earn over $1 billion, but the upcoming film Rebirth plans to exceed that mark. Every installment in the Jurassic World series has grossed more than $1 billion at the box office, with the initial release currently holding the 10th spot among the highest-grossing films ever made.

The film titled Rebirth, helmed by Gareth Edwards, centers around a secret operative (Scarlett Johansson), a team commander (Mahershala Ali), and an archaeologist (Jonathan Bailey) as they venture into a perilous land teeming with dinosaurs, undertaking a hazardous mission together.

In his latest interview, it was disclosed by Bailey, the actor depicting Dr Henry Loomis, that he took on another responsibility behind the scenes – performing a clarinet solo for the movie’s soundtrack.

Bailey enthusiastically declared, “This moment was the pinnacle of my professional journey. It ignited the geek within me as intensely as [Mount] Vesuvius might erupt,” adding, “It’s a testament that if you passionately embrace something and remain dedicated to it, unexpectedly, your circle can come complete.
