Jurassic World: Rebirth confirms runtime ahead of July release – here’s how it ranks in the series

The runtime for “Jurassic World: Dominion” has been officially announced, making it one of the longest films in the Jurassic Park series thus far.

This July, the new Jurassic World movie will hit theaters, making it the fourth installment of the series within the Jurassic World saga and the seventh film in the entire Jurassic Park franchise.

The duration of “Jurassic World: Rebirth” has been officially disclosed (through the Irish Film Classification Office), and it runs for 133 minutes and 28 seconds. This makes it the second longest film in the Jurassic series, surpassed only by “Jurassic World: Dominion” with its runtime of 146 minutes and 57 seconds.

What to Read Next

The upcoming movie unfolds five years following the occurrences of Dominion, during a period where the planet’s ecosystem has become mostly unfriendly towards dinosaurs.

The original text says, “Those still surviving live in isolated equatorial areas with climates similar to where they once flourished.” A simpler and more natural way to phrase this could be, “The ones left are found in tropical environments that mimic their historical habitats.”

As for the second sentence, it can be rephrased as follows: “Inside this tropical ecosystem reside the three largest creatures. The discovery of a drug derived from them could offer astonishing life-saving advantages to humanity.

Scarlett Johansson takes on the role of clandestine ops specialist Zora Bennett, tasked with assembling a team to retrieve crucial DNA from three dinosaur species. Meanwhile, the character of Dr. Henry Loomis, a paleontologist, is portrayed by Jonathan Bailey from ‘Bridgerton’.

Mahershala Ali, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Rupert Friend, Luna Blaise and David Iacono also star.

In simpler terms, Director Gareth Edwards refers to the forthcoming movie as a heartfelt tribute or a grand expression of affection towards Steven Spielberg, who was the director for the initial two Jurassic Park films.

He stated, “For me, it feels like an enormous tribute to Steven Spielberg and his past works.” The film contains scenes that strongly evoke the feeling of “Jaws” for him.

This collection seems to be a miniature compilation of my favorite elements from his movies, which brought me joy as a kid. Essentially, it’s an abridged journey through this island, filled with adventure and survival-like experiences.

Jurassic World Rebirth is released in cinemas on 2 July, 2025.

The first print issue of “Digital Spy” has arrived! You can grab a copy of the “British Comedy Legends” magazine either at your local newsstands or online, currently available for only £3.99.
