Junior Edwards dead: Swamp People star passes away as cast pays tribute
The team and followers of the History Channel’s popular reality show, Swamp People, are deeply grieving over the passing of one of their cherished colleagues.
On the 26th of July last Saturday, young Willie Edwards announced on Facebook some sad news: his beloved grandfather, Junior Edwards, had sadly passed away.
In a heartfelt message, he said, “May you find peace, dear Pawpaw,” accompanied by a tender photograph of Junior enjoying time on the water with Willie Edwards Senior, Little Willie’s dad.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but imagine that you’re skillfully using your hoop nets, or perhaps engaging in some extraordinary activity within those radiant gates. Rest assured, my dear friend, the void left by your absence will be profound. We cherish you more than words can express!!! Until we are reunited once more.
Though ‘Young’ Willie remained silent about the particulars regarding Junior’s demise, be it the exact day or reason, the emotions of sorrow from the Swamp People community were swift and sincere.
Junior Edwards was a staple of the show from its very first season in 2010.

For over 10 years, he was featured in approximately 100 episodes, establishing himself as one of the most formidable and adept alligator hunters in the swamp, gaining a strong reputation.
Despite leaving the show regularly in 2015, Junior made occasional guest appearances over the subsequent years.
Castmates paid tribute to Junior’s legacy and his impact on the show and their lives.
Ashley ‘Deadeye’ Jones referred to Junior as a “legend,” commending him as one of the most exceptional alligator hunters the world has known.
As a die-hard admirer, I too extend my heartfelt condolences to the Edwards family, mirroring the sympathies of fellow star, Ronnie Adams, during these trying times. My thoughts are with them, and I send all the love and support I can muster.
Messages of sympathy and support poured in from numerous fans, extending far beyond just the cast, as they filled up a Facebook post with heartfelt tributes.
One fan expressed, ‘Sending prayers to your family. We always enjoyed watching your grandpa when he was performing.’ Wishing him peace in the afterlife.
Another replied, ‘I’m deeply sorry to learn about this. Losing a father is immensely challenging! You are in my thoughts and prayers.’
The passing of Junior Edwards is a touching point for fans of Swamp People and the Louisiana community, as they’ve witnessed his story unfold throughout the years.
His legacy as a legendary hunter and beloved family man will surely live on.
