Julius Caesar’s Spartacus: House Of Ashur Role Revealed

Be warned, this contains spoilers for the first two episodes of Spartacus: House of Ashur! Actor Jamie Slater has hinted at the significant role Julius Caesar will play in the new Spartacus series on Starz, a sequel to the original. House of Ashur presents an alternate take on history, giving Ashur a second chance at life and increased power after surviving the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. The show will also feature Julius Caesar and his wife, Cornelia.

In an interview with ScreenRant’s Tatiana Hullender, actress Ella Slater, who plays Cornelia, discussed her character’s relationship with Julius Caesar in the upcoming series, Spartacus: House of Ashur. Slater described the pair as “partners in crime” who deeply trust each other, a bond that will be crucial as they carry out their plans throughout the show.

ScreenRant asked about the connection between Caesar and Cornelia, noting their chemistry is a bright spot in the show. They wanted to know more about their relationship and how it changes throughout the first season.

Jamie Slater explained that political maneuvering is what brings Cornelia and Caesar to town. They essentially take over Asher’s villa to create conflict and advance their own plans.

These two are deeply in love, a rare thing in ancient Rome where most marriages were arranged. They’re true partners – they trust each other completely, share secrets, and work together, often plotting and scheming as a team.

Cornelia is completely true to herself. She freely expresses her thoughts and acts on her impulses, doing exactly what she wants, when she wants to.

When Ashur finds himself in this altered world, he’s joined forces with both Crassus and Caesar. Spartacus is also dead, suggesting significant changes to history are already happening. This new reality sees Caesar and Cornelia plotting to increase their power in Rome, which could disrupt the existing order.

After two episodes, the show House of Ashur hasn’t fully revealed how Caesar and Cornelia will start working together. So far, Caesar’s only action has been to send Ashur to the Appian Way to clear away dead bodies – a way of reminding him of his low status in Roman society.

Caesar and Cornelia haven’t reached their full potential yet, compared to how powerful they become in history. However, the show suggests they’ll gain more influence quickly. While Ashur and his gladiator Achillia have been the main characters so far, the focus will probably shift to Caesar and Cornelia in future episodes.

According to recent comments from the actor, the story of Spartacus: House of Ashur suggests Caesar and Cornelia will steadily and strategically gain power. While it’s unclear exactly how they’ll achieve their goals, they seem very determined to succeed.

Now that the series has just started, it’s still unclear how Spartacus: House of Ashur will develop the characters’ goals. The show is currently focused on establishing the main characters and their world, so this development will likely take time. However, when it happens, we can expect some compelling scenes between the two lovers.

New episodes of Spartacus: House of Ashur arrive Fridays on Starz.
