Julie Andrews’ Sound of Music co-star who now works behind the camera spotted in LA… can you guess who?

Oh my gosh, can you believe she was only thirteen when she starred in The Sound of Music? Thirteen! Playing one of the von Trapp kids! It’s just… incredible. I’ve watched that movie a million times, and knowing she was so young then just makes it even more amazing. She was a total natural!

The classic 1965 movie features Julie Andrews as Maria, a governess who looks after the seven children of Captain von Trapp, a widower, in Austria during the 1930s.

Although the project—a multiple Academy Award winner—is a highlight, it’s not the only acclaimed role in her acting career.

She also appeared in Lost in Space, The Love Boat, Adam-12, and Beyond the Poseidon Adventure.

Now 73, this star went on to pursue photography, clothing and jewelry design.

She was seen on Tuesday washing her car, taking a break from her work on creative projects.

Can you guess who this legend is?

If you guessed Angela Cartwright, you were correct!

Cartwright was spotted cleaning her car windshield while out in the City of Angels.

Wearing a dress and sneakers, Cartwright used a windshield wiper to make sure her window stayed clean.

Although British actress Cartwright was only thirteen years old when she played the part of ten-year-old Brigitta, she was already an experienced child actor with several roles under her belt.

At just three years old, she acted alongside Paul Newman in the movie Somebody Up There Likes Me. She then went on to appear in the American TV show Make Room for Daddy for seven seasons.

Following her success in The Sound of Music, she continued acting, appearing in the television series Lost in Space and Make Room for Granddaddy.

After having her two children, Jesse and Rebecca Gullion, she decided to focus on artistic hobbies instead of continuing to act.

For over three decades, she’s worked as a photographer and has written multiple books about how to take great pictures.

In 2019, she briefly appeared as Sheila Harris, Dr. Smith’s mother, in episode three of season two of the 2018 Netflix series, Lost In Space.

Clearly acting talent runs in the family, her sister is X-files star Veronica Cartwright.

After a short break from acting, she’s returning to the screen in the upcoming movie, Ralph’s Perfekt Christmas.

Despite everything going on, she still found time last summer to get together with her fellow actors from The Sound of Music while they were in Italy.

Cartwright was joined in Florence by several of her former ‘Sound of Music’ co-stars: Nicholas Hammond (75, who played Friedrich), Duane Chase (75, who played Kurt), Debbie Turner (69, who played Marta), and Kym Karath (67, who played Gretl).

I was so excited to see Kym post a picture from ‘The Sound of Music in Florence’ – it looks like she took the whole family! She captioned it ‘#thesoundofmusicinflorence,’ and it just seems like a wonderful time.

The Sound of Music was a huge success, becoming the first movie to earn over $100 million at the box office.

When adjusted for inflation, The Sound of Music has made roughly $2.366 billion in today’s money, making it one of the top ten highest-grossing movies ever.

Last year, Kym, Nicholas, Duane, Angela, and Debbie got together to honor Julie Andrews, who received a lifetime achievement award from the American Film Institute. The event was held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, and they were there to support the actress who played their governess and later, stepmother, on screen.
