36-year-old dancer openly discussed her experience encountering her former spouse, Brooks Laich (aged 41), who was accompanied by his partner Katrin Davíðsdóttir, at a wedding event.
In a sneak peek for The Jamie Kern Lima Show podcast, as publicized by People, Hough candidly discussed his experience with Lima, describing it as “wonderful” during their three-part conversation.
She stressed, ‘It was so beautiful. It was so beautiful,’ adding, ‘I’m in this place where I now feel like I’m just beginning with so much wisdom, with so much insight, with so much compassion and so much empathy and understanding of like, what’s possible.’
Looking back at her divorce, finalized in 2022, she expressed a transition from feeling overwhelmed with thoughts like, “Will this situation ever end?”, to experiencing joy and excitement as she now has the opportunity to shape and construct the life she’s always dreamed of.
She added, “Every choice I make will be based on this moment, understanding that it won’t guarantee a flawless life.
Hough isn’t striving for ‘a perfect life,’ but rather a ‘full, beautiful, connected life.’
The media personality expressed, “You experience joy because you experience sadness, you feel all these emotions because you possess the capacity to do so.
‘There’s room for you to truly live this moment, and I believe that’s the essence of our existence – experiencing the richness of life in its entirety.’
In the year 2013, Julianne and Brooks began their romantic journey together, and they officially tied the knot in the beautiful state of Idaho during the summer of 2017.
Three years later the couple announced their separation and the divorce was finalized in 2022.
In August 2021, Laich solidified his fresh connection with CrossFit athlete Davíðsdóttir through a post on Instagram.
Instead of intentionally projecting and forcing her desires onto others, Hough now focuses on living authentically and vibrantly. This genuine self-expression becomes the magnet that attracts people, rather than trying to manipulate or fabricate what she wants and needs.
Five weeks after publicly disclosing her sexuality to Lima, the media personality made this announcement – a development that followed by five years her initial statement acknowledging she is not exclusively attracted to men.
During her debut appearance on the podcast, she made it clear that she finds herself drawn towards ‘individuals.’
She also reflected on the empowerment she felt after coming out publicly in 2019.
Expressing your true identity is often both an exposed and liberating experience. In my case, it wasn’t so much about identifying as straight or gay or bisexual or queer, but rather, acknowledging who I truly am.
She commented: ‘I believe I’m discovering the essence of love, and I have affection for people in general. Yet, I’m uncertain about my attractions, but I still opt for you.’
