Julianne Hough, 36, documents egg-freezing journey… as ex Brooks Laich prepares to become a dad

Julianne Hough is taking steps to become a mother.

36-year-old former contestant on Dancing with the Stars disclosed her decision to preserve her eggs, with the aspiration that someday they could be fertilized and develop into her child.

She shared a look at the 10-day process in a video she shared on Instagram on June 7. 

In the video she labeled as her ‘egg freezing journey,’ Hough stated, ‘Let’s begin,’ emphasizing it was an endeavor for the sake of having a small child.

In the entire video, the creator of Kinrgy is visible attending medical check-ups and self-administering injections, which boost her odds of generating additional eggs.

Over the course of the week, Julianne observed on the eighth day, “Hormonal changes seem to be occurring. My breasts appear larger. A lot is happening.

She shared more insight into her egg donation process in the caption of the video’s post.

First she thanked her doctor and the facility she’s being treated at.

Let me pause for a moment to express my gratitude towards Dr. Carolyn Alexander and the exceptional staff at SCRC,” she wrote.

In simpler terms, Julianne mentioned that she has endometriosis, which makes her fertility journey more challenging due to this condition and her personal plans regarding starting a family.

I’m embarking on my third cycle of egg freezing, and while discussing this topic can sometimes feel awkward or private, I’ve come to understand its significance in sharing experiences like mine.

She went on to say: “Everywhere around the globe, women are courageously stepping into medical clinics, facing significant choices regarding their bodies and their future paths.

She penned that it’s an extremely sensitive ordeal – one that affects us not only physically but also emotionally and hormonally.

She conveyed that by revealing her experiences, she aspires to make someone realize they aren’t alone or motivate them to seek answers and discover what suits them best. In such a case, I believe the effort would be justified.

From the depth of my heart, I can’t express enough my profound gratitude towards this extraordinary team. They’ve been by my side, unwavering and compassionate, since my second endometriosis laparoscopy surgery in 2017. Over the years, they’ve grown to feel like an extended family to me.

Currently, Julianne’s former spouse, Brooks Laich, is anticipating the birth of his first child with his partner Katrín Tanja Davíðsdóttir.

In the comments section, Julianne posted, ‘Warm congratulations to both of you on growing your family! This new addition is already adored ✨.’

In December 2024, when the couple announced their engagement, Julianne was quick to extend her congratulations as well.

On their joint Instagram post, the happy couple published engagement pictures and wrote, ‘December 16, 2024 forever seems perfect with you!’ (Infinite symbol included)

The presenter of Dancing with the Stars exclaimed, “Bravo! I’m overjoyed for the two of you as you embark on this charming new phase of your lives. Here’s to a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and limitless experiences for both of you! ❤️✨

Brooks replied with a friendly message that read, ‘Thank you for the kinds words, much love Jules!’

They began their romantic relationship in the year 2013, got married in the summer of 2017 in Idaho, and ended their marriage by the year 2022 through divorce.

In September 2024, Hough expressed his feelings upon witnessing Laich and Davíðsdóttir together at a friend’s wedding.
