Julian McMahon’s sisters ‘completely shattered’ after the actor’s tragic cancer death at age 56

Julian McMahon’s sisters are devastated by his death, according to a new report.

Last week, the well-known Australian figure, who was 56 years old, passed away after a personal fight with illness, which included cancer.

Melinda (age 58) and Debbie (age 52), his sisters, are reportedly grieving deeply following the tragic demise of their cherished brother.

‘Melinda’s completely shattered,’ a family friend told Woman’s Day on Monday.

Instead of growing apart following their mother’s passing, it seems that their bond only strengthened, with her constantly watching over Julian, as he is her beloved younger brother for whom she felt an intense affection.

As a devoted follower, I’ve been grappling with extra challenges since my dear sister lost our beloved matriarch, Lady Sonia McMahon, in 2010.

‘His death also must have left Deb in pieces,’ the friend told the publication.

He was not only kind and good-looking but also her older brother. I’m certain that following the death of Sonia, he took on a significant role, offering assistance to Deb in numerous big and minor aspects.

The trio’s father, Sir William McMahon, died in 1988.

Previously, he functioned as the Prime Minister of Australia, serving from 1971 to 1972, and during that time, he led the Liberal Party of Australia as its head.

For nearly half a century, an Australian-born, American actor kept a quiet fight against cancer, a struggle disclosed by his wife, Kelly, in a deeply emotional declaration made public on Friday.

Julian recently made his final public appearance when he joined forces with Nicolas Cage at SXSW in Austin, Texas, back in March. They were there to promote their upcoming psychological thriller titled “The Surfer.

In her tribute to Julian McMahon, who passed away this week following his battle with cancer, his wife Kelly wrote: ‘From the depths of my heart, I feel compelled to share the news that my cherished husband, Julian McMahon, departed peacefully. He fought courageously.’

As a passionate devotee, I deeply cherish existence itself. My heart swells with affection for my beloved family, dear friends, and the fulfilling work that I’m immersed in. Moreover, I hold immense admiration for those who appreciate my efforts. My most fervent aspiration is to spread happiness far and wide across numerous lives.

Let’s express it in a more casual and friendly tone: “We kindly request space during this difficult period so our family can privately mourn. And we hope that everyone who took joy from Julian continues to find happiness in life. We are thankful for the memories, she expressed in her statement (which Deadline obtained).

The talented actor was best known for his role as Dr. Christian Troy on the FX series Nip/Tuck.

He acted alongside Dylan Walsh, who played Sean McNamara, in a cheesy medical drama that aired for six seasons between 2003 and 2010.

In 2004, the actor was also recognized with a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Drama Television Series. However, it was Ian McShane who won the award for his performance in the HBO show, Deadwood.

Later, Julian took on the role of Jess LaCroix in the CBS show FBI: Most Wanted, starting from 2020. However, he shocked fans by leaving the series in March 2022, concluding his tenure after a span of three seasons.

Previously, he gained fame for his role as the lead character Ben Lucini in the Australian TV soap opera Home & Away, where he acted from 1990 to 1991.

From 1996 to 2000, the actor played the role of Detective John Grant in the American crime drama series titled “Profiler.

Later on, he captured the affections of numerous fans by playing the role of Cole Turner in seasons 3 to 5 of Charmed, from 2000 to 2003. He reappeared as a guest star during season 7 in 2005.

Born in Sydney, Australia, this individual also made a mark on the silver screen by portraying the legendary supervillain Dr. Doom in both the 2005 and 2007 Marvel productions titled Fantastic Four and its sequel, Fantastic Four: The Rise of the Silver Surfer.

He also starred alongside Sandra Bullock in 2007 supernatural psychological thriller Premonition.

I’ve been an ardent admirer of Julian for over a decade now, and it wasn’t until their enchanting lakefront wedding in Lake Tahoe, straddling California and Nevada in 2014, that the lovebirds officially became husband and wife. It was his third walk down the aisle.

In the past, Julian was wedded to model and actress Brooke Burns, who is also known for her role in Baywatch, between 1999 and 2001. They have a 25-year-old daughter named Madison Elizabeth McMahon together.

Additionally, he had a well-known marriage with the Australian singer and television personality, Dannii Minogue, from 1994 until 1995.

His last acting role was quite significant, as it brought him back to his origins by playing the Australian Prime Minister in the Netflix thriller series titled “The Residence.
