Winning recognition for her work on Ozark, Garner will take on an executive producer role along with Graham Moore and Jacqueline Hoyt. Notably, these two individuals will also share co-showrunning duties for the series. James Ponsoldt, renowned particularly for The Spectacular Now, has been tapped to direct the pilot episode of this upcoming project.
In essence, portraying characters like The Altruists isn’t entirely uncharted waters for Garner, as she has previously delved into similar territories by playing the real-life criminal Anna Sorokin in Netflix’s “Inventing Anna.” This role garnered her a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress.
2022 saw a series penned by Shonda Rhimes, creator of Grey’s Anatomy and Bridgerton, that chronicled the story of Sorokin, a Russian native who went by Anna Delvey, as she skillfully navigated New York’s upper class with an intention to defraud the wealthy.
Before “The Altruists” officially premieres, you’ll have a chance to see Maura Tierney on the big screen as she takes on the character of Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer in the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film titled “The Fantastic Four: First Steps“.
Featuring Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby, this superhero movie revolves around four main characters who work together to safeguard an alternate Earth resembling the 1960s from the destructive forces of the Silver Surfer and the cosmic entity Galactus (played by Ralph Ineson).
The Altruists has no release date, while The Fantastic Four: First Steps is in cinemas on 25 July.
