Jude Law’s ex hits back at Chappell Roan’s denials and hopes singer ‘learns a lesson’ as she shares further details about star’s ‘aggressive’ security leaving her 11-year-old daughter ‘in tears’

Jude Law’s former partner has responded to Chappell Roan’s claims, insisting it was actually a security member of Roan’s team who upset Law’s 11-year-old daughter and made her cry.

Jorginho, a former player for Chelsea and Arsenal, posted on Instagram Saturday alleging that the daughter of his wife, Catherine Harding, was threatened by a security guard at the Pink Pony Club. The incident occurred in Brazil after the 11-year-old girl – whose father is Jude – recognized the celebrity at the same hotel.

After the singer posted on Instagram explaining that she, not her security team, hadn’t asked anyone to approach the child – who seems to be Ada Law – Catherine promptly shared her perspective on what happened.

She stated that Chappell claimed he wasn’t responsible for the security and wasn’t involved. She confirmed this, saying it definitely wasn’t a hotel security guard, but someone who works with the artists.

I’m not sure if he’s her bodyguard, but he was with her. I don’t know if she sent him to do whatever happened, and I really hope she didn’t. However, celebrities have a responsibility to make sure everyone working for them is acting appropriately and with their knowledge.

Would he really take that action without her permission? I’m not sure. If he did, that would be a serious issue, as it would mean he’s portraying her views inaccurately and against her wishes.

Catherine explained that Chappell was correct in saying she hadn’t seen anything, as nothing actually occurred. She stated her daughter simply walked quietly past the musician’s table.

It was such a simple moment, but it really struck me. My daughter just stood there, completely captivated by Chappell. She didn’t reach for her phone, didn’t try to capture it for social media, she just… looked at him and smiled. It was a genuine, beautiful reaction, and I’ll always remember it.

Catherine remembered that a security guard, who she felt was aggressive and scary, approached their table and harshly criticized her parenting.

He told us not to bother people, and I tried to explain to him that he was being immature and she was simply thrilled to meet an artist she admired.

She told him her daughter, whose parents include a well-known figure and her stepfather, knew what behavior was expected of someone in the public spotlight. However, she added that the security guard hadn’t paid attention to this.

Honestly, I’m really hoping Chappell wasn’t aware of any of this, and definitely didn’t authorize anyone to do it. We’re huge fans – we think she’s incredibly talented, and that’s why we traveled all the way to São Paulo to see her exhibition. It’s just so disappointing to think something like this could be happening.

It was her birthday, and she asked for tickets to a show. We were supposed to go last night, but unfortunately couldn’t make it, which put a damper on things, but that’s just how it goes.

I hope she realizes, and prevents her employees from treating people this way in the future.

Daily Mail have contacted Chappell Roan’s representatives for comment.

This follows a video posted on Chappell’s Instagram Story where she stated she would share her side of an incident involving a mother, a child, and a security guard – clarifying that the guard wasn’t part of her personal security team.

I honestly didn’t notice anything unusual. I didn’t see a woman or a child, and no one approached me. I was simply having breakfast at my hotel. It seems these individuals were also guests at the hotel. What’s strange is that a security guard…

I never asked the security guard to approach that mother and child. They came to me, I didn’t initiate any contact. It’s unfair for security to assume someone is doing something wrong without any evidence or action to support that belief.

I don’t dislike anyone who enjoys my music, and the idea that I dislike children is absurd. I apologize to the mother and child who were affected by someone’s incorrect assumptions.

‘If you felt uncomfortable that makes me really sad. You did not deserve that.’

Catherine recently expressed her gratitude to Lewis Capaldi for being so kind, after he took a photo with her daughter on Sunday.

She shared a photo of her daughter smiling with the Scottish singer after his headlining performance at Lollapalooza 2026 in São Paulo.

Lewis flashed a thumbs-up to the camera, and Catherine joined him for a quick photo. She captioned it with a message of gratitude, saying, ‘Thanks for your kindness’.
