Jude Law recreates iconic The Holiday scene during reunion
As a die-hard fan of romantic comedies and a connoisseur of all things Jude Law, I was absolutely thrilled to witness the recent reunion between the actor and director Nancy Meyers, reminiscent of their iconic work on The Holiday. This scene brought back memories of countless viewings and countless tears (of joy, of course!), as Iris’s brother Graham and Amanda fell in love under the English countryside’s starry sky.
Actor Jude Law reenacted a famous sequence from “The Holiday” during his get-together with the movie’s director, Nancy Meyers.
In a fun twist of events, the 2006 romantic comedy centered around journalist Iris (Kate Winslet) and film producer Amanda (Cameron Diaz). Desiring to flee their sorrow during the holiday season, they exchanged homes, one situated on each side of the Atlantic Ocean.
In a notable turn, Iris’s sibling, Graham, found himself smitten by Amanda after she traded the bright lights of Los Angeles for the tranquil English countryside, with him being the one playing the character in the story.
On December 12, Thursday, following the actor receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Meyers posted an Instagram video showcasing their joyous post-award lunch.
She excitedly mentioned, “Guess who I’m dining with today? – It’s none other than Jude Law! What an incredible achievement, your star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame truly deserves it!
It seems like it’s been ages since The Holiday wrap-up! By the way, I’ve noticed that during your interviews, people often ask about a potential sequel. So, what are your thoughts on that?” (First person perspective as a fan expressing curiosity.)
As he pondered the question, Law emitted a hearty sigh, and in a humorous nod to the movie, balanced a napkin and glasses atop his head, much like the amusing Mr. Napkin Head character.
Swiftly, fans flooded the comment area expressing their joy over the act, whereas some encouraged Meyers to lastly ponder over producing a sequel.
“Do not play with our feelings like this, Nancy! What do you mean a sequel to The Holiday? Give it to us already, we beg you!” one person wrote.
“Casually shattering the web,” one remarked, as another put it: “This is exactly what we needed… It’s high time. I often play the soundtrack while working… simply wonderful.
A fourth fan echoed the sentiment, writing: “Please please please let there be a sequel.”
Earlier, the law had expressed his enthusiasm for the prospect of a sequel during an appearance at the Tribeca Festival in June.
The actor also shared how he thought his character would be getting on now with two adult children.
He expressed his fondness for the concept on E! News, adding, “I believe Graham continues to own sweaters and spectacles, and enjoys reading. I imagine he must be extremely concerned about the girls, don’t you think?
The Holiday is streaming now on Netflix.
