I’ve organized this collection of heroes into primary groups: Defenders, Melee fighters, Ranged, and Magic users for clarity. To keep things straightforward, I’ve broken them down into four main levels: Super Strong (Triple S), Strong (S), Good (A), and Average (B). This compilation features only the Hero and Legendary ranked characters, as they are the game’s most powerful characters.

Best Heroes in Journey of Monarch
Best Defensive Hero – Kurtz
Kurtz is an impressive defensive champion, recognized for his exceptional toughness and high damage output. He performs exceptionally well as a frontline unit, able to absorb considerable damage, all while dealing significant blows to enemies and bosses alike.
Despite not having basic elemental attacks, this hero distinguishes himself among defensive champions due to his remarkable tanking abilities and high damage potential. He delivers double the standard attack damage with basic attacks, a feat only shared by Artebalt aside from him, another SSS pick in my opinion. Furthermore, with his Shield Strike, he can inflict an impressive 600% of his attack power onto the targeted enemy, which is the highest among all defensive heroes.
Best Melee Hero – Dantes
In the realm of this game, Dantes, who belongs to the Wind Element class, is one of the most formidable melee heroes. His regular attack causes a staggering 215% damage to any foe, and his Critical Attack is truly remarkable, dealing an impressive 325% damage. Additionally, his Critical Attack boosts the damage output of all allies by 14% for three consecutive turns, offering a strategic advantage in battles.
As a gamer, I’ve got this awesome active skill called Shadow Vampire. With it, I can sneak up on the closest foe, darting 3 meters behind ’em. Once there, I unleash a whopping 650% damage on ’em! To add to the stealthy fun, I go invisible for 5 seconds and speed up my attacks by 18% for the next 3 seconds, making me a boss-slaying machine. And let’s not forget about Arc Shadow – it’s another fantastic choice, so grab it if you can!
Best Ranged Hero – Gillean
In terms of long-range champions, Gillean and Dryad are top picks. Gillean specializes in the Water Element for his offensive moves, whereas Dryad harnesses the Earth Element. When it comes to their basic attack damage among ranged heroes, Gillean takes the lead with a whopping 208% impact on his foes.
His relentless assault, packing a punch with an impressive 313% attack damage, leaves targets reeling. Additionally, if successful, it reduces his cooldown by 20% for a duration of 10 seconds. As a ranger stationed in the back row, his primary function is to dish out consistent damage and bolster his team, which he performs flawlessly.
Using his ability called Luna Shower, he has the power to inflict 175% of his attack damage on all enemies located within a 3-meter radius. This makes it an excellent tool for swiftly eliminating groups of adversaries. Furthermore, this skill also raises the critical hit rate of nearby allies by 16% over a duration of 3 seconds, which significantly enhances their performance in combat.
Best Magic Hero – Arc Wizard
I believe that many of the renowned Magic-class heroes boast impressive power and adaptability, making them an excellent choice for a team. For example, Elruion’s active ability, Heal All, restores 16% Health Points (HP) to all allies, proving invaluable during boss fights, whereas Capricus’s active skill, Abyss Eruption, deals a massive 625% damage and decreases the target’s critical hit resistance by 16% for 3 seconds. This synergizes exceptionally well with Gillean on the team.
As a gamer, I’d say I’ve got my eyes on Arc Wizard, hands down. He’s got this cool Water Element thing going on that makes his basic attack pack a punch at 158%, but On top of that, he bolsters our team by increasing our damage resistance by 8% for a cool 3 seconds. That’s one supportive and powerful caster right there!
What distinguishes him from others is his exceptional ability, known as “Disintegrate,” which deals six times his attack power as damage to the target. If the attack hits, it also inflicts an ongoing damage effect that gradually whittles down the target’s maximum health by 1.6% each second for a span of 3 seconds. This makes him an excellent pick when facing off against bosses due to their high health points.
Final Thoughts
In summary, this hero ranking list is intended to aid you in swiftly completing stages by assembling a potent squad of heroes, including Legendary and Hero-level characters. Yet, keep in mind that what proves successful for others may not yield the same results for you. Therefore, don’t hesitate to test out different combinations and discover the team setup that aligns best with your gaming approach and strategy.
Additionally, as Gacha games are primarily chance-based, you may not consistently acquire top-notch characters. Instead, I encourage you to maximize your enjoyment and progress using the heroes you have acquired. This tier list has been compiled from my personal gaming experiences over hundreds of hours and clearing more than 200 stages. Therefore, feel free to use this ranking system to breeze through various stages with minimal effort while also savoring the gameplay experience.
