Josie Gibson’s weight loss secrets: How TV star, 40, shed five stone after years of yo-yo dieting – and it’s NOT down to Ozempic!

Josie Gibson is wowing her fans with her incredible weight loss – she’s lost a remarkable five stone!

The TV presenter, who is 40 years old, has often talked about her weight changing over time. She famously went from a size 20 to a size 8 back in 2014.

After years of trying different diets without lasting success, and previously saying she’d never consider weight loss injections, Josie has finally discovered a method that works for her.

Josie completely adopted the eating and lifestyle habits popular in the 1970s, mimicking the food, drinks, and health trends of that time.

Jodie’s new Channel 5 show, “The 1970s Diet: Could It Work for You?”, follows her as she changes her habits and tries to lose weight by adopting a 1970s-style diet and lifestyle.

The show investigates if the way people ate in the 1970s might help solve today’s obesity problem.

The new mom worked with a nutritionist who created a personalized eating plan for her. This meant eating smaller meals and incorporating foods like boiled potatoes, liver, and spam, which she learned to enjoy.

If I decide to do this, I’m going to document the entire process – that is the core of the project. There’s no point in doing it if I’m not sharing everything that happens.

Josie was surprised to learn she was in excellent shape, despite being overweight. She told The Mirror she’d always expected to be less fit, considering her weight, even though she regularly exercised. The fitness expert told her, ‘You’re actually at a superior fitness level.’

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I’m so excited to share that this Wednesday and Thursday at 7pm, I’ll be diving into the fabulous world of 1970s fashion and fitness! It’s a two-part special where we really get to explore the trends and how people stayed active back then.

She said she loved 1970s fashion, calling it beautiful. She went shopping, grabbed what she thought were her usual sizes, and was shocked when nothing fit. She realized afterward that clothing sizes aren’t always accurate these days.

Let me tell you, getting to experience the food from the 1970s for this new show was something else! It wasn’t easy, honestly – a completely different world from what we eat now, and a really unique challenge. I was totally immersed in it!

As a long-time enthusiast of retro culture, I’ve been completely captivated researching how people lived in the ’70s, especially when it comes to food! It’s amazing how different things were – not just what people ate, but how they thought about exercise and even grocery shopping. Honestly, it’s been a really fascinating deep dive, and I think viewers are going to be as hooked as I am!

Josie shared earlier this year that she lost five stone through diet and exercise alone, without using weight loss injections or undergoing surgery.

In a recent Instagram post, she clarified that she didn’t have gastric bypass surgery. Instead, she lost weight by exercising more, eating a healthier diet, and learning about nutrition.

Josie has been getting a lot of attention for her weight loss, and has been showing off her new figure with some beautiful outfits on the show This Morning.

She shared that she completed the 12-week “Do The Unthinkable” program from MuscleFood, which combines delivered meals, exercise plans, and support to help people improve their health and fitness.

Josie works six days a week with one day off, and she admitted to having a single indulgent meal on her day off.

I didn’t have a complete meltdown and indulge in all the things I’ve been avoiding, like lots of wine, food, and chocolate.

I allowed myself one treat, and that was all. If you’re going to have a day where you relax your diet, don’t ruin all your progress. Enjoy a single cheat meal, but don’t overeat.

I’ve always admired her honesty, and she recently explained why she’d never consider those weight loss injections. She totally gets why some people turn to them when they’re really struggling, and she understands that desperation.

I personally wouldn’t consider it, as I prefer to keep my body natural and avoid any procedures or alterations. I always choose the most natural approach.

In 2014, Josie Gibson launched two fitness DVDs: ’30 Second Slim’ and ‘Josie Gibson’s 21 Day Fat Burn’.

Josie Gibson has written a book called The Josie Gibson Diet where she explains how she lost weight by eliminating processed foods and sugar from her diet.

Josie, who became well-known on the reality show Big Brother in 2010, shared that she had a tummy tuck in 2016 to remove six pounds and thirteen inches of excess skin.

She told New! magazine that she woke up one morning and was shocked to clearly see her abdominal muscles for the first time. She described being surprised and exclaiming, ‘Wow, I can actually see my abs!’

Okay, so I’ve gone through so much – they literally removed six pounds of skin! It’s amazing, honestly. But… I haven’t exactly been hitting the gym, so I’m guessing I’ve probably gained a few pounds back already. Still worth it, though! It’s just…a lot to adjust to.

‘I was 10st 10lbs before the operation and now I’m 11st 5lb. And I reckon I am a big size 12.’
