As a huge fan of Josh O’Connor’s acting skills, I couldn’t be more thrilled to hear that his latest movie, “La Chimera,” will soon be available for streaming in the UK on MUBI. The film has already made waves with an impressive 100% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a riveting performance by O’Connor as the brooding Arthur.

Josh O’Connor’s recent movie La Chimera has landed a UK streaming date.

I was thoroughly excited when I stumbled upon this movie that had a perfect 100%, now 94%, fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes in the late ’80s Italy section. The story revolves around an intriguing band of grave robbers.

MUBI’s streaming service will make the movie available to viewers starting from August 2nd.

In her film as both director and writer, Alice Rohrwacher highlights the grieving community headed by O’Connor’s character, Arthur, over the passing of his spouse Beniamina.

His abilities are harnessed by the team for procuring ancient artifacts clandestinely, selling them in the black market. However, “his mission to link the past and present carries greater consequences.”

At Isabella Rossellini’s formerly stunning residence, where her mother indulges Arthur in his nostalgic leanings, an unexpected encounter with the young Italia (Carol Duarte) occurs. Their blossoming friendship motivates Arthur to embrace the future as he inches ever closer to a groundbreaking revelation.

The movie “La Chimera” made its debut approximately thirteen months ago at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival. It contended for the coveted Palme d’Or award during that time.

In simpler terms, the film concludes Rohrwacher’s three-part exploration of Italy’s past and present connection. Preceded by “The Wonders” and “Happy as Lazzaro.”

In a glowing five-star assessment by Digital Spy, we remarked that O’Connor gave a noteworthy portrayal of the enigmatic outsider, bogged down by the passage of time and gripped by mourning.

In “Challengers,” the actor brings to life the shameless rogue Patrick Zweig. Through subtle gestures and lingering glances, he uncovers a deep well of emotions. As our compass in this intricately woven tapestry of eccentric, unclassifiable characters inhabiting a seedy Wonderland, his performance is nothing short of captivating.

La Chimera will stream on MUBI from August 2.
