Josh Hutcherson angers Taylor Swift fans by saying he’s not a ‘Swiftie’ despite attending Eras Tour as VIP guest

Josh Hutcherson admitted he’s not a Taylor Swift fan, even though he went to her Eras Tour concert last year.

The actor, 33, recently appeared in the Five Nights at Freddy’s sequel and shared this information in an interview with i-D Magazine, where he was speaking with his I Love LA co-star, Jordan Firstman.

In a TikTok video shared by the publication, the two celebrities played a game called ‘Camera Roll Roulette.’ The game involved both of them searching for the word ‘club’ in their phone photos.

Firstman jokingly noticed Hutcherson was only looking at concert information on his phone and told him, ‘Josh, you need to go to the club!’

The actor then shared that the only photo they have in their personal collection is a picture of themself with their mother at a Taylor Swift concert.

‘That is really cute,’ Firstman said before asking Hutcherson, ‘Are you Swiftie?’ 

The actor clarified, ‘No, I’m definitely not a Swiftie. I have a lot of respect for Taylor Swift and her fans, but I wouldn’t consider myself one of them.’

Firstman quickly added, ‘A little tiny shade. She can handle a little bit of shade.’ 

Josh Hutcherson went to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert in New Orleans last October. He recently shared in an interview that his mother was the one who actually got him to go.

Someone commented, ‘Funny because he went to the Eras Tour, lol,’ and another TikTok user replied that a simple ‘no’ would have sufficed.

However, others came to the actor’s defense and wrote, ‘why are people so offended lmaoo.’ 

One fan commented, “Everyone seems so upset! He just went because his mom is a Taylor Swift fan – it’s not that big of a deal.”

Someone pointed out that he never said he disliked her, just that he’s not a fan of Taylor Swift. They added that it’s perfectly normal to not listen to music by someone you’ve met before.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour began in 2023 and concluded with a final show in Canada in December of last year.

The tour attracted several famous faces, including Emma Stone, Taylor Lautner, Emma Watson, Diplo, Laura Dern, Emma Roberts, Selena Gomez, and Cara Delevingne.

Taylor Swift is giving fans an exclusive look behind the scenes of her Eras Tour with a new six-part documentary series called ‘The End Of An Era’.

The episodes are slated to hit Disney+ later this month on December 12. 

Josh Hutcherson has been working steadily and recently starred in the new HBO series, ‘I Love LA’.

Other cast members in the show include Jordan Firstman, Rachel Sennott and Odessa A’zion.

The series ‘I Love LA’ debuted on HBO last November and has already been picked up for a second season.

Following his role as Mike in the recently released Five Nights At Freddy’s 2 (released December 5th), Hutcherson has also been exploring opportunities in the horror film genre.

This movie continues the story from the 2023 film Five Nights At Freddy’s and is inspired by the well-known video game series.

In a recent interview with Men’s Health, the actor said he was surprised and impressed by the passionate fanbase when he first learned about the game series.
