Josh Duhamel Finally Reveals Truth Behind 21-Year Age Gap With His Stunning Wife!

Josh Duhamel is explaining how he ended up married to a woman 21 years his junior.

On a recent episode of Amanda Hirsch’s “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast, the 52-year-old actor, formerly married to Fergie, confessed that he had some initial reservations about starting a romantic relationship with his wife Audra Mari, who is 31.

For a long time, he described their relationship as purely friendly, mentioning that when they initially met, he hesitated to delve into any romantic speculations, saying something along the lines of “I don’t even want to entertain that thought.

The two connected strongly due to sharing the same roots in North Dakota, and later on, he extended an invitation for her to join him at a barbecue, believing it to be purely friendly, considering her as simply a fellow Northerner from the Dakotas.

‘There aren’t many people from there,’ he noted about their home state connection.

Duhamel told Hirsch they started dating when he realized ‘she’s more mature than I am.’ 

Now the two lovebirds are parents to 16-month-old son Shepherd.

Alongside Fergie, the 50-year-old pop star, Josh is a parent to their shared 11-year-old son Axl. They were married from 2009 until they separated in 2017. Fergie filed for divorce in May 2019, two years after announcing their separation. The divorce was officially finalized on November 22, 2019.

Back in September 2023, when it was revealed that the Black Eyed Peas singer and his new spouse, Audra, were anticipating their initial child, he promptly expressed his backing.

In response to Audra’s heartwarming Instagram post, I couldn’t help but feel genuinely ecstatic for her and her family. Axl seems equally excited about his upcoming role as a big brother. What a wonderful time in their lives!

Duhamel and Mari tied the knot in September 2022 in Fargo, North Dakota.

They had gotten engaged months earlier in January, with the actor sharing the news on social media.

He discovered a note in a bottle that had been swept to shore, and it read “YES”! This was what he posted back then on Twitter: ‘@audramari.’

Inside the bottle was a handwritten letter that read: ‘Audra Diane Mari Will You Marry Me?’

They were first seen together in October 2019 when they were spotted kissing in Toronto.

In a candid conversation with Graham Bensinger during the In Depth interview held in October 2023, Josh shared insights on the reasons behind his estranged relationship with his former wife, Fergie.

As a devoted admirer, I can relate when he mentions they drifted apart. It seems to me they may have evolved separately, pursuing distinct passions and paths in life.

In the heartfelt chat, the actor remarked, ‘I’ve come to terms with that phase of my life. She and I share a wonderful bond, co-parenting our son beautifully. Our marriage was far from flawed; we enjoyed every moment of it tremendously.’

As I grew older, my desire to move to North Dakota intensified. This wasn’t due to her, but I bear her no grudges…I consider myself extremely fortunate to be with someone as kind-hearted as she is. I truly mean that.

Speaking about his wife, he expressed, “Audra is perfect for me because we share many similarities. We’re both passionate North Dakota natives…We both cherish the lake lifestyle. We both prioritize our families. We both adore children.
