Just days after his arrest on accusations of harming a nine-year-old girl, details about Joseph Duggar’s situation at the Washington County Detention Facility in Arkansas have come to light.
An affidavit recently obtained by Daily Mail reveals details from Duggar’s accuser about the alleged sexual abuse she says she experienced on multiple occasions.
Thirty-one-year-old Joseph was arrested last Wednesday in Tontitown, Arkansas. He’s accused of inappropriately touching a nine-year-old girl while on vacation with her family in Panama City Beach, Florida.
Joseph’s wife, 27-year-old Kendra, was arrested Friday in Tontitown and charged with harming and falsely imprisoning four children. Joseph is now facing the same charges.
Kendra was released on bail approximately an hour and a half after being booked, and Joseph has agreed to be sent to Florida to face charges, the Northwest Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports.
People magazine obtained a collect call from the detention center revealing that Joseph told Kendra he’s currently in solitary confinement.
Joseph told his wife during their call that he’d been spending a lot of time reading the Bible, which someone had given him while he was incarcerated.
He explained to Kendra that he was in solitary confinement, spending most of the day – 23 hours – alone in a small cell measuring 8 by 10 feet.
He said the space was quite small, but he’d managed to do a lot of reading and get some rest, though he wasn’t sleeping well at night.
According to records from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office obtained by People magazine, Joseph called Kendra around 8:11 PM on March 20th, just hours after she was released from a facility and following two previous unanswered calls.

According to a detective’s affidavit, Joseph’s accuser said that while they were on vacation in Florida, she would sit on his lap and he would hold her closely with his arms.

According to the sworn statement, Joseph confessed during the phone call that he touched the victim inappropriately, over her clothes, and acknowledged his motives were improper.
After a judge reviewed evidence – including details from a phone conversation – authorities obtained an arrest warrant. The Bay County Sheriff’s Office in Florida was authorized to make the arrest.
The Bay County Sheriff’s Office seems to have forwarded the arrest warrant to Arkansas authorities, which resulted in Joseph being arrested in Tontitown.
Last week, authorities arrested him in Lynn Haven, Florida, due to allegations of sexual misconduct involving a child, according to a statement from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.
A Tontitown, Arkansas police officer contacted the BCSO to follow up on a report of past sexual abuse.
Police say a 14-year-old girl reported that Duggar was involved in several inappropriate incidents about five years ago.
Investigators stated the incidents reportedly happened in 2020, when the victim was nine years old and vacationing with her family in Panama City Beach, Florida.
The former star of 19 Kids And Counting is now accused of four counts each of putting a child in danger and unlawfully restricting a child’s freedom, according to the Tontitown Police Department. TMZ reported the new charges.
Sources say the new legal issues Duggar and Kendra are facing in Arkansas are separate from his existing case in Florida.
He is being held in Arkansas as he awaits extradition back to Florida.
