Jonathan Pryce’s new “high-stakes” real-life political thriller gets exciting update

The upcoming political thriller, Keep Her Quiet, starring Jonathan Pryce, is generating buzz. Based on a true story and filled with suspense, it’s shaping up to be a compelling film when it arrives.

I’m really excited about this new film! It’s directed by Franz Böhm and Suli Kurban, and it’s about a journalist in Washington, D.C. who starts digging into a series of disappearances happening in Western China. It sounds like a gripping mystery!

The thriller, first announced in December, has received another encouraging update: Beta Cinema will now handle international sales. This should improve the possibility of the film being released in the UK, though confirmation is still pending.

What to Read Next

The political thriller features a screenplay by Böhm, Kurban, and Samuel Gheist. It’s based on the real experiences of journalists who covered major crises, drawing on their reporting and the stories of those who survived.

I was really impressed with Zar Amir Ebrahimi in Holy Spider last year, so I’m stoked to hear she’s going to play the lead as an investigative journalist in this new project. They haven’t said what Jonathan Pryce will be doing yet, which is a little mysterious. And good news – Amir El-Masry, who I remember from Limbo and Giant, is joining the cast too! Sounds like a solid lineup.

Although the release of Keep Her Quiet isn’t immediate, Pryce will soon appear in Under Salt Marsh, a six-episode series for Sky created, written, and co-directed by Claire Oakley.

The show centers around Jackie Ellis (Kelly Reilly), a teacher with a past as a detective, when she finds the body of one of her eight-year-old students. The discovery reminds her of an unsolved case from years ago, and she partners with her former coworker, Eric Bull (Rafe Spall), to uncover the truth.

Before “The Responder” debuts on Sky on Friday, January 30th, stars Martin Reilly and Tom Spall gave an exclusive interview to Digital Spy. They hinted that Spall will showcase a side of himself audiences haven’t seen before.

Reilly told Spall, “I’m really impressed – I’ve never seen you do anything quite like this before, and you did it amazingly well. I’d love to see more! It was great because it played to your strengths, but also pushed you to try something new.”

Spall explained that people are often drawn to things that are either effortless or challenging, and this role definitely fell into the latter category. He felt an immediate connection to the material as soon as he read it, knowing he wanted to take it on.

Keep Her Quiet has no release date, while Under Salt Marsh premieres on Friday on Sky Atlantic.

The latest issue of Living Legends is now available, and it’s dedicated to the incredible Dolly Parton! You can purchase ‘Dolly at 80’ at newsstands or online for only £8.99.
