Jonathan Majors’ ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari drops defamation lawsuit against the actor

As a film enthusiast who has witnessed the rollercoaster ride of Jonathan Majors‘ career, I find myself both intrigued and saddened by his latest developments. It seems that every time we turn around, there’s another twist in this tale, much like a gripping thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The dismissal of Grace Jabbari’s civil lawsuit against Majors is yet another plot point in this ongoing saga.

Moving on from another chapter of our past, I, Jonathan Majors, along with my former partner, Grace Jabbari, are progressing towards brighter horizons. Nearly a year has passed since the intense media scrutiny surrounding my high-profile assault and harassment trial last winter as part of Marvel’s universe.

As a movie enthusiast, I’m sharing an update about the actor from “Creed III,” Michael B. Jordan (who goes by Majors in this context), and his movement coach, Jabbari. Yesterday, they jointly decided to drop Jabbari’s civil lawsuit filed against her ex-boyfriend. The allegations included battery, assault, and defamation. Based on court records I’ve looked at, they reached a “stipulation of voluntary dismissal,” effectively ending Jabbari’s case. This means she can’t refile the same complaint in New York federal court again.

Jabbari initiated her court action in March, with the claim additionally targeting Majors for emotional distress and false accusations. Her legal action stemmed from alleged persistent domestic abuse by Majors, which started in 2021 and continued through 2023, according to court documents. The lawsuit mirrors allegations that played a significant role in Majors’ domestic violence criminal trial.

Last December, Majors was found guilty of assault and harassment, yet he was also found not guilty of an additional assault charge and aggravated harassment. Immediately following the verdict, Marvel promptly terminated the actor who gained fame in “The Last Black Man in San Francisco,” marking another significant setback for his professional path.

Responding to Jabbari’s lawsuit, Priya Chaudhry (Majors’ former lawyer) stated back in March that the allegation was not unexpected. Later in April, a judge in New York made a ruling that Majors would avoid jail time and instead, he must undergo a 52-week in-person batterer’s intervention program and continue his mental health treatment.

As a passionate film enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that my client, Jabbari, has displayed an extraordinary display of courage. In a statement released to The Times today, I’m proud to announce that we’ve reached a favorable settlement in this case.

We’re hoping that Jabbari will be able to leave this part of her life in the past and continue with confidence,” Howard continued.

A legal representative for Majors did not immediately respond to The Times’ request for comment.

Ever since my sentencing, I’ve generally stayed out of the limelight. Occasionally, I share my thoughts on Marvel’s latest projects during quick chats with the paparazzi. And from time to time, you might spot me accompanying actress Meagan Good at various Hollywood events.

Prior to confirming their engagement and announcing it at Ebony’s Power 100 Gala, Majors and Good had previously decided to drop her civil lawsuit. They first met each other about two years ago at the same event. As reported by E! News, Majors shared this information.

The “Divorce in the Black” actor, who stood by Majors during his New York trial last year, stated that he put forward two suggestions, leaving her “extremely surprised and delighted.
