Jonathan Majors’ ex-girlfriend drops assault and defamation suit after his engagement to Meagan Good

As an ardent fan of Jonathan Majors, I must say that I’ve been on quite the emotional rollercoaster these past few years. From his mesmerizing performances to the unfortunate events off-screen, it’s been a mix of exhilaration and heartache. The latest news about the dismissal of Grace Jabbari’s lawsuit against him is indeed a sigh of relief for many fans like myself.

Grace Jabbari, the ex-girlfriend of Jonathan Majors, has dropped a lawsuit against him.

On Thursday, as reported by Variety, the legal team representing dancer Jabbari chose to withdraw a federal court case they had initiated against a 35-year-old actor.

The dismissal comes nearly a year after Majors was convicted of two misdemeanor counts in December for assaulting Jabbari.

Before the unfortunate incident, I was ecstatic about the surge in Major’s career, particularly landing the coveted antagonist role in Marvel’s Kang Dynasty. However, when the news of his conviction broke, the studio swiftly made the decision to cut ties with him, and sadly, the film’s production plans were scrapped.

Recently, he received favorable updates regarding his legal matters, only a few days following their announcement of engagement during their shared appearance at the 2024 Ebony Power 100 event on Sunday.

Neither Majors nor Jabbari have commented on the dismissal. 

In March of this year, Jabbari, a movement instructor by profession, initiated a legal action against Majors. She alleged that he had committed assault, battery, caused severe emotional distress intentionally, and maliciously pursued false charges against her.

Additionally, he was charged with defamation following an interview on Good Morning America after his conviction, during which he claimed never to have physically harmed a woman.

I stood by my words even though I’d been found guilty in a court of justice, accused of attacking Jabbari in the rear compartment of an SUV.

In the end, Majors escaped incarceration and instead received probation. The court also mandated that he attend a one-year long counseling program focused on domestic violence issues.

The judge overseeing the case also required him to continue attending therapy sessions.

As reported by Variety, lawyers for both Jabbari and Majors have submitted a unified document to the court, signaling their intention to drop the ongoing legal matter.

‘In the case mentioned above, all allegations against the Defendant have been permanently dropped.’

At the trial for Majors’ alleged domestic violence, Jabbari stated that Majors exhibited behavior characterized by control and manipulation throughout their romantic involvement.

She claimed that he frequently had explosive temper tantrums at home, resulting in him throwing items against the walls and damaging household goods.

Jabbari also claimed that Majors tried to control who she was allowed to spend time with socially.

She claimed that following their disagreements, the actor’s behavior became so unstable that he would make statements suggesting self-harm or suicide.

Before the attack, Major was already known for his impressive role in the critically-acclaimed drama, “Magazine Dreams”. This film garnered positive feedback following its debut at the Sundance Film Festival.

Nevertheless, its planned release in December 2023 got postponed following Searchlight Features’ decision to withdraw the movie after the incident involving an assault.

Following the restoration of the rights, the film is expected to be distributed by Briarcliff Entertainment, set to premiere it as early as 2025.

In May of last year, Major was connected with actress Meagan Good. She remained supportive alongside him throughout his trial involving allegations of domestic violence.

On Sunday at the 2024 Ebony Power 100, they both sported wide smiles. At this event, Good proudly displayed her engagement ring while walking the red carpet.
