Jonathan Bailey reveals secret second role in Jurassic World: Rebirth: “The nerd in me erupted”
Actor Jonathan Bailey from “Jurassic World: Dominion” recently disclosed that he held a clandestine part in the movie, stating it as the peak experience of his acting career.
In the coming sci-fi action movie, taking place five years post-“Jurassic World: Dominion,” we follow a secret agent (Scarlett Johansson), a squad commander (Mahershala Ali) and an archaeologist (Bailey) as they venture into perilous dinosaur-occupied lands for a high-risk operation.
Before the movie premieres on July 2nd, Bailey shared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” that he not only played Dr. Henry Loomis, but also had an extra role in the production and even contributed to the film’s soundtrack by helping create its musical score.

Bailey excitedly expressed, “This moment was the pinnacle of my professional journey. It was as if my inner geek burst forth like the eruption of [Mount] Vesuvius.” He went on to reveal that director Gareth Edwards had extended an invitation for him to attend a recording session at Abbey Road Studios, where the film’s score would be created.
He granted me entry and I found myself seated with a friend at the summit, simply there to observe. The experience gave me goosebumps, he reminisced. As the days went by, he found himself yearning: “May I bring my clarinet along?” Since he played the clarinet in school, he just desired to play a single note.
Bailey mentioned that he performed a solo clarinet piece in the original John Williams composition. He explained that composer Alexandre Desplat requested this of him after encouraging him to stay throughout the recording session.
The actor expressed, “I exclaimed: ‘I can’t do it. I won’t be able to.’ As this clarinet solo played, I found myself thinking, ‘I’ll regret my decision for the rest of my days.’ Fortunately, I eventually agreed to Desplat’s ‘seize the moment’ offer.
Bailey mentioned that in the same year Jurassic Park was published, his grandfather gifted him a clarinet. He emphasized by saying, “This simply illustrates that if you have passion for something and dedicate yourself to it, unexpectedly, things may return to you in a complete loop.
The actor found it incredibly moving. Some events transpire that are simply unimaginable, he added, hinting that the movie’s action scenes were truly spectacular.
Jurassic World: Rebirth is in cinemas on 2 July.
