Jonathan Bailey had an unexpected Bridgerton reunion on Wicked
As a die-hard fan of both Bridgerton and Wicked, I was utterly thrilled when I discovered that Jonathan Bailey, who played Anthony Bridgerton and Fiyero in these two magical worlds, had an unexpected reunion on the set of Wicked! It’s not every day you find a horse named Jack in both your Netflix series and your Broadway-turned-big-screen musical adaptation.
Jonathan Bailey has revealed he had an unexpected Bridgerton reunion on the set of Wicked.
In the movie version of the musical, the actor portrays Fiyero and mentioned that the equine co-star he collaborated with is the very same one he spent screen time with while playing Anthony Bridgerton in the Netflix series.
During the Popcorn Podcast, Bailey shared that he had previously collaborated with Jack. Notably, they worked together on Bridgerton. Over time, they developed trust and understanding, which is quite remarkable.
Additionally, he is remarkably dedicated and provides a consistently reliable acting companion. Given this, I felt secure enough to take a bold approach.
Recently, Bailey admitted to having taken an inappropriate picture of himself wearing Fiyero’s boots, which will remain hidden.
On the official Instagram of the show, the actor shared: “My initial, face-to-face encounter, being aware that I would portray Fiyero, was with the person who crafted my ‘Dancing Through Life’ footwear.
“I think I flew over on a Tuesday, and then I was filming Bridgerton on the Wednesday to Saturday.”
Upon arrival, nothing was delivered to him. All he had were his Fiyero boots, as he explained further. There’s a unique and unseen photograph of him, only wearing his boots, that seemed fitting for the character of Fiyero in some way.
In a rephrased and easy-to-understand manner, the musical “Wicked” serves as a prequel to the beloved story of “The Wizard of Oz.” It tells the tale of Elphaba (portrayed by Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande), whose budding friendship eventually transforms into rivalry.
On November 22, Wicked hits the big screen. As for Bridgerton, you can stream seasons 1-3 on Netflix, and don’t forget to catch Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story too!
