Jonathan Bailey confirms Ariana Grande reunion on exciting new project

Jonathan Bailey has seemingly hinted at a reunion with Ariana Grande for a new project. They both starred as Fiyero and Glinda in the Wicked films, with the second movie being released last year.

Rumors began circulating late last year that the pair might collaborate on a stage revival of Sunday in the Park with George in London’s Barbican Theatre, potentially launching in the summer of 2027, according to Deadline.

Despite some remaining uncertainties, Bailey has indicated the project is moving forward. He shared a hint on Instagram, posting a photo of himself and Ariana Grande with Seurat’s painting, A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte, in the background.

Stephen Sondheim’s musical was inspired by Georges Seurat’s famous painting, and it features a made-up story about the artist. Bailey playfully referenced the musical by including the line “All it has to be is good” in her caption.

I was scrolling through the comments and saw so much hype! Even Joe Locke from Heartstopper just wrote ‘Yes’ like, a million times – it was pretty funny and showed how excited everyone was.

Broadway performer Lea Salonga expressed her shock, exclaiming, “Oh my goodness, what is happening?!” Meanwhile, Marisha Wallace, also a stage actress, shared a meme featuring Cynthia Erivo, another Wicked star, with a shocked expression.

Ariana Grande recently spoke out about Cynthia Erivo not receiving an award nomination for her role in For Good, after Grande herself received a nomination.

According to Variety, Cynthia’s portrayal of Elphaba is incredibly honest, raw, and powerful – a performance that will be remembered and loved for years to come. It’s a truly unforgettable take on the role.

She also spoke about the fact that director Jon M. Chu wasn’t nominated for an award by the Directors Guild of America, saying he deserves all the recognition in the world.

He’s a truly remarkable person and filmmaker. This movie is destined to be a classic, watched and appreciated for many years. He aimed to inspire viewers, provoke thought, and encourage empathy – and he achieved that goal. The powerful effect of his work, along with Cynthia’s incredible performance as Elphaba, is clear.

You can now see Wicked: For Good in movie theaters! It’s also available to purchase or rent on demand through platforms like Prime Video and AppleTV in the UK.

I’m so excited! The latest issue of Living Legends is out, and this one’s all about Dolly Parton! You can grab a copy of ‘Dolly at 80’ at any newsagent or order it online for only £8.99. It’s a must-have for any fan!
