Jonah Hill looked thinner than ever while filming on set amid his major weight loss transformation.
I was so impressed seeing the actor, who’s 41, looking fantastic on set! He’s been really dedicated to getting healthy, and you can definitely see the results while he films his new comedy, Cut Off. It’s great to see him prioritizing his well-being!
He wore a soccer jersey and a pair of jeans, both of which hung loosely on his slim physique.
Channing Tatum, known for his role in 21 Jump Street, was spotted leaving his trailer with a simple meal – a plate and a glass – while chatting with the film crew. He reportedly lost weight by boxing and following Japanese dietary principles.
Instead of wearing his character’s blonde wig, he opted for a San Diego Padres baseball cap and dark sunglasses.
Earlier this month, Hill began filming *Cut Off*. He’s directing, producing, co-writing, and starring in the movie.

Kristen Wiig, Bette Midler, and Nathan Lane are among the stars appearing in the upcoming film, Cut Off.
The movie stars Kristen Wiig and Jonah Hill as two spoiled siblings who are suddenly cut off financially by their parents. It’s scheduled to come out next summer, with a release date of July 17, 2026.
In 2023, Jonah Hill candidly talked about his ups and downs with his weight to his therapist, Phil Stutz, as part of the Netflix documentary he directed called Stutz.
The director of Winning Time remembers growing up with the idea that exercise and healthy eating were about fixing a perceived flaw in one’s appearance.
No one ever explained exercise and diet to me as ways to improve my mental wellbeing, and I wish they had. It would be great if that connection was made more clear for everyone.
Hill shared that being overweight as a child deeply affected him, and he still struggles with those feelings, often feeling like an insecure teenager dealing with weight and self-esteem issues.
Honestly, deep down, I still feel like… well, someone who doesn’t deserve love. That’s what he said, and it *gets* me. But his work, what he’s creating, it’s slowly showing him – and me, by extension! – that being *himself*, flaws and everything, is actually amazing. It’s just… he admits it’s a really tough realization to fully accept, and ugh, I feel that so much!
Channing Tatum encouraged Jonah Hill to get in shape, and in 2011, Hill started working with a nutritionist and trainer. He discussed this transformation during an appearance on The Tonight Show in 2016.

Hill’s weight went up to 270 pounds in 2014; but by 2017, he had shed weight.
In 2022, he announced to Deadline that he would stop attending premieres and promotional events for his films, including future releases, because he found they were worsening his mental health.
He explained that the film’s main goal is to share the therapeutic techniques and insights he’s gained with a broader audience in an accessible and engaging way, essentially offering a form of self-help through entertainment.
Okay, so reading his statement… it just hit me so hard. He basically said that watching this movie helped *him* realize he’s been dealing with panic attacks for almost twenty years! And get this – being in the public eye, doing interviews, anything like that… it makes them so much worse. I always knew he seemed uncomfortable during those things, but to find out it’s been this whole time… it just breaks my heart. It’s like, he finally understands *why* he’s been feeling this way all along. I’m just so glad he’s finally talking about it.
I’m excited for people worldwide to see this and hope it helps anyone who’s going through a difficult time. However, I won’t be publicly promoting this film, or any future projects, as I focus on prioritizing my own well-being.
Going out and pushing the film while unwell would feel dishonest, both to myself and to the project itself.
Although the actor has been in many films over the last 18 years, he wants everyone to know he isn’t retiring for good.
He concluded by expressing his hope that his documentary will encourage people to openly discuss and address their mental health challenges.
